After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served during the Korean War in lncheon and Seoul, South Korea from 1951 to 1953.

Following his military service, he returned home and was lucky enough to meet and fall in love with Plainview MN native, Sheila Fenske. They married on April 22, 1955, in Rapid City, SD and were together for a remarkable 70 years before his passing. They had one daughter, Nola Myers-Becher. For most of their married life, they made their home in Rochester MN and Bill worked as a Heat and Frost Insulator for 45 years.

Both his spouse and daughter survive. Bill is also survived by brother Patrick (Karen) Myers and sister, Jean Wozney.

Additionally, Bill had five grandchildren, Ben Sehl (Christy Bass Sehl) of Glen Allen, VA, Philip (Jieun) Becher of Winona, MN, Paul Becher, Rochester MN,

Paige Becher, Rochester MN, and Patrick Becher, Rochester MN. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Will, J. Carter and Campbell Sehl, Glen Allen, VA and Blaze Wangen-Becher, Fountain MN. These two generations of grands were loved and cherished.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Helen (Gamroth) Myers, brothers Robert and Roger Myers, and sister, Janet Glaunert.

Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion and the Korean War Veterans Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and snowmobiler.
