Wayne W. Prigge

Wayne William Prigge, 68, died peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Born on June 13, 1947, in Rochester, Minn., Wayne was the son of Richard and Joyce (Cropper) Prigge.  He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed.  He graduated from Byron High School in 1965 and Winona Vo-Tech in 1967.  Later that year, he married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Sorenson, and they made their home in Byron. For many years, Wayne owned and operated his own business and later worked for Mayo Clinic and several local public schools.

Wayne was an avid sports fan who loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports and sitting outside listening to the Twins game on the radio. He enjoyed hunting, camping, golfing, gambling, traveling to warm destinations and spending time relaxing at the cabin with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; sons, Travis (Julie) Prigge of Mantorville and Troy (Sarah) Prigge of Byron; daughter, Alexandra Prigge; grandchildren, Haley, Jayden, Mason, Elle, and Bryce; mother, Joyce Prigge of Mesa, AZ; sister, Annette Kruger/Horsman of Mesa, AZ; brother, Charlie Prigge of Denver, CO; and many wonderful brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father Richard, brother Gerald, and daughter Trista.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron with Pastor Jack Friedli officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Byron Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the Prigge family.
Arrangements are with Macken Funeral Home in Rochester.
