Wayne J. Luck

Wayne James Luck, quietly, and with dignity, passed from this world on December 2, 2023.

Wayne was born to Maurice and Petronella (Cockerill) Luck in Rochester, MN. He graduated from John Marshall High School and married Deborah (Buesing) that same summer. Together, they relocated to Kansas City, MO, where he attended the Kansas City School of Watchmaking. He then attended Paris College in Paris, TX earning degrees in Advanced Watchmaking, Custom Design, and became a certified Gemologist. He was a member of the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society. He worked in several retail jewelry stores, as well as an on the road rep, finally opening two different retail stores in Rochester, MN.

In addition to his love for jewelry, Wayne enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle and riding with groups of friends. He was a member of the Guardian Angels. He also enjoyed hunting and camping.

Wayne is survived by his son, Alexander (Aimee) Luck, grandsons, Tristan and Asher; granddaughter, Sailor; his daughter, Audray Luck, and his beloved pet, Bitsy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

So sorry to hear about  Wayne's  passing.  I new Wayne from junior High school  and Grauated  with him. We had some good times. I remember  him coming to the first class reunion  in a three peice  suit and short hair. I got such a kick out of him. Next reunion  he was pretty  much back to his old self. Wayne was such a great communicator,  I would stop by his shop and we would visit for at least a hour.   He will be missed, my condolences  to his family.

I was married to Bob Bachmann and we went to Paris (Junior) College with Wayne. We had so much fun together especially at Jewelry parties! My best wishes to family & friends! I have very fond memories of Wayne!! God bless you all & Merry Christmas!!

I was so sad to see that Wayne is gone.  I met him when several times fixing several of my pieces of jewelry he knew what junk was and Wayne would tell me to my face.  Great honesty. I will look forward to seeing him in heaven. I pray for the family for their loss.  Poor Bitsy she will miss her daddy spoiling her rotten.

We met Wayne when we needed some watches serviced, and we so enjoyed visiting with him in the shop. He designed some beautiful earrings, and was “our guy” for all our jewelry needs. Our sincere condolences to the family.

Wayne was a very special friend, and was such a talented artist with his jewelry pieces.  I treasure the years and the memories!  He was a good man !  We will miss him on mortal earth but will see him one day in Heaven!  Rest easy Wayne!

My sympathy to Wayne's entire family.  Wayne was a very talented person in his chosen profession.  Very "Honest" & always kept his word.

I met Wayne in about 1998 I think.  He was quite the character and we had many great conversations over the years.  He made my beautiful ruby and diamond wedding ring secretly for my husband and was brilliant at his craft. He loved his children to the ends of the earth and was so proud of them. He always talked about them every time I stopped in. I think about him every time I pass his first shop on Broadway and laugh when I remember him getting so mad about people parking in his spots. He definitely wasn't someone you wanted to mess with but he was really just a big softy. I wish his children peace and I think Wayne will always be hanging around just to keep an eye our. Rest my friend ❤️

Wayne was an amazing person. I met him when I needed some jewelry repaired. He also made us custom wedding bands. Wayne was honest and a great human being. I enjoyed visiting with him. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

I knew Wayne for many years. Each time I visited him at his store we would pick up where we left off. Sometimes we had to remind each other how we met but would laugh and carry on. He really knew his business and made nice repairs on my jewelry. He will not be forgotten. Be free Wayne, fly high!

Do sorry for your loss. Wayne was my cousin. He is now at peace. Gone too soon. Prayers for your family.

Sorry for his family, sending prayers & good thoughts!

Your dad was a good man, a gifted jeweler, a sincere, caring person and a dear friend  My last visit was special.  I will miss him but treasure my memories.  I look forward to seeing him in Heaven!

You left us way to soon my friend.

Wayne it was indeed a pleasure meeting you and getting to know the true person you were.

I know you are in Heaven right now and no longer here. You are now enjoying the Peace that passeth all understanding.

You have been a good soldier in the army of our God.

We will miss you dearly.

 Pauline and Wayne Spahr

To Wayne's Family,

You have my deepest sympathy.  I worked with Wayne when he was the jeweler for Rogers and Hollands and years later used him for several of my own pieces when he had his shop.  I appreciated how he was upfront and wanted to educate people and prevent them from choosing a setting or design that wasn't a good choice for that particular type of stone.  You could see the pride he had in his work.
