Todd James Schoppers

Todd “TJ” Schoppers, 42, surrounded by his loving family, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 after suffering a major heart attack.

Todd was born on July 16, 1976 to Lewis and Kathy (Braun) Schoppers, and raised with his siblings in Rochester, MN. After graduating from Lourdes High School, Todd worked as a mechanic beside his father at Jiffy Lube for several years. He then began his career as a Machine Operator working with his brother at Bowman Tool & Machining.

Todd leaves behind his two children, Morgan (14 years) and Dane (12 years); his mother, Kathy Schoppers; sister, Michele (Larry) Lawler; brother, Jeff (Lynn) Schoppers; nieces, Samantha Schoppers and Jadyn Schoppers and nephew, Jagger Schoppers all of Rochester; and his children’s grandparents, Pat (Glen) Skewes of LaCrosse, WI.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis; and his grandparents.

Todd loved raising his children and creating a home for them in Rochester. He enjoyed fishing and rooting for the Minnesota Vikings. Todd had a great sense of humor and contagious smile that he shared with his family and everyone he met. He always had an extremely giving heart which he demonstrated by his request to be an organ donor, donating his kidneys to save the lives of two others.

Todd’s family would like to thank all the people at St. Marys Hospital Mary Brigh Unit 5G for the wonderful care he was given during his time there.

The Memorial Service for Todd will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in the River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Todd’s ashes will be interred in the columbarium at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Memorials are preferred to his children.

Condolences

The family of Todd James Schoppers has received the following condolences.

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the family.  Todd left this earth way to soon.  Please know you are in my prayers.  I was Todd's 5th grade teacher at St., Francis.  God bless each of you in the days ahead.

Pat Heydon

We are so sorry for your loss. You are all in our hearts and prayers.

I’m very sorry to read the passing of your beloved Todd. Please accept my sincere condolences. I have personally felt comforted by the promise made by God of bringing back to life those who sleep in death (1 Thes. 4:14). So be assured that you’ll be able to hug, kiss and talk to Todd again. He will come back into an Earth free of suffering, sickness and anything that causes us to shed tears of pain (Rev. 21:4). This hope is both sure and firm because Jehovah God cannot lie (Heb. 6:18; Titus 1:2). Is my sincere desire that you can also find comfort in this words during this difficult time for you.

My deepest and most sincere condolences.   Todd was a loyal and true friend to me since grade school.   He was a kind and humble man who gave unconditional love freely to his friends and family.  His presence in the world will be greatly, greatly missed.  Eternal rest grant unto him,  oh Lord.

So heartbroken to hear about your loss.  Todd was the kindest man around.  A wonderful neighbor, father, and friend.  He will be greatly missed.

Dear Kathy and her entire Family,

How very sad and tragic. We send you our thoughts and prayers throughout this sorrowful time.

Todd was one of the most kind and caring people I know.  You will be missed my friend. The spirit of the woom woom man will never die. Rest in peace my friend.

Our family is extremely sad to hear about the tragic loss of Todd, who we have enjoyed as a very dear neighbor and close friend to our children and family. Heaven will be filled with laughter and love even though we will miss him terribly here. Though there are no adequate words to equate how sorry we are for your loss, but please know we are sending prayers of love, peace, and light to your family.

So very sorry for your loss! I am thinking of you all and praying for you during this very difficult time in your lives!
