Timothy James Nolan

Timothy James Nolan, 58, of Rochester went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 after a brief stay at the Saint Marys Hospital ICU.

Tim was born on November 27, 1959 to James and Nancy (Hogle) Nolan of Rochester.

Tim was a 1978 graduate of John Marshall High School and went on to graduate in 1989 from Mankato State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Tim was married to his life partner, Diane, in 1989. As a longtime resident of Rochester, Tim worked for Pace Dairy before attending college. Once he finished college, he was employed by Rochester Public Schools for nine years. Then he went on to work at R&S Transport and 21st Century Childcare. He most recently was employed at Cottagewood Senior Living. Tim had a heart for helping others, especially the elderly, the disabled, and disadvantaged kids. His hobbies and interests include still-life and sports photography. Tim was an avid hockey and football fan. It gave him great joy to see his daughter, Kiera, compete in track and field events and play volleyball. He was always proud to see her perform in her dance recitals. Tim enjoyed getting together with family, going for bike rides, taking Kiera swimming and ice skating and playing “31”. He had a silly sense of humor and a creative mind. He would draw cartoons and write clever poems to make us laugh. Tim will be missed by many family and friends, our church community, and those whom he got to know through his various places of employment.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; father, James; sister, Teresa; cousin, Beth Ann; and sister-in-law, Teresa.

He is survived by his mother, Nancy (John Brandrup) of Rochester; wife, Diane of Rochester, daughter, Kiera; step-brothers and sisters and their families; aunt, Bonnie LaBarge of Neenah, WI; cousin, David Labarge of Appleton, WI; and in-laws, Joan Gerteisen of Rochester, and Jerry (Nancy) Gerteisen of Broomfield, CO.

The memorial service for Tim will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Assembly of God Church in Rochester officiated by Pastor Andy Cass. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

“Assuredly I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise” -Luke 23:43

Diane, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to you and your daughter in the loss of your husband and father.. I was very saddened to hear this news only just recently. My heart goes out to you during this very emotional time. May God wrap his arms around you and give you peace.

Hoping that the words of comfort you here from those early who care Help ease your loss. No one can truly understand the pain that you feel.

Dear Diana, Kiera and all who loved TJ,

My heart was so saddened to hear about TJ passing away. He truly was a person who loved helping people. I know one guy, namely Ketan, that will be visiting with him up in Heaven. I always looked forward to seeing that it was TJ picking us up or taking us back home. He would have the cutest stories about Kiera. If you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here for you both. Sincerely, Lori and Ketan Schwerman

I am are so sorry to hear about Tim's passing. He worked for me at Pace Dairy and was such pleasure to have on the team. I will always remember his sense of humor and  him drawing cartoons on napkins and leave them around the lunchroom for others to enjoy. Glad to hear that he continued to bring joy to others throughout his life. He will truly be missed.

We are so sorry for your loss. Tim was a wonderful Christian man that reached out to so many people. He reached out to Gene each Sunday we were at church. He made a point of asking Gene how he was doing and telling him that he was praying for him.

His gracious gift of a beautiful soft throw for Gene's legs (he got so cold) was so precious to both of us. We will always cherish that throw. What a gift!

Our prayers are with all of you. May God's love surround you at this time.

tim worked for my company for nearly a decade. He was one of our customer’s most requested driver. His wit and sharp mind was noticeable but it was his heart that attracted people to him.

Nancy, Diane: I’m so sorry for your loss Tim was one in a million. Although I haven’t seen or spoken to Tim in a few years, I’ll miss him dearly.
