Thomas H. Roschen

It is with both sadness and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Thomas Harold Roschen, who passed away on August 20, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on April 30, 1953, in Lake City, MN to Harold and Alice (Reding) Roschen, Tom lived a life rich with love, adventure, and cherished memories.

A proud graduate of Mayo High School in 1971, Tom embarked on a rewarding career at Crenlo for 38 years, culminating in his well-deserved retirement in 2015.

Tom married the love of his life, Brigitte Montgomery, in 1977, and together they created a beautiful family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brigitte; his children, David (Carol) Johnson, Jason (Christy) Roschen, and Misty Smith; and his cherished grandchildren, Jasmine (Jacob) Peterson, Dominic Smith and Macy Roschen. Tom also leaves behind his sister, Diane (Ken) Whiting, and niece Jackie Carlson, along with many other family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Tom loved fishing and hunting for pheasants and squirrels, and he enjoyed the thrill of motorcycles, classic cars, and boating adventures. He was also a passionate supporter of the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Many fond memories were created during his time spent in Florida with Brigitte, and his love for dogs brought countless moments of joy into their home.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice (Reding) Roschen, and his grandparents and in-laws. While he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to shine brightly in all of us who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 24th, at Chester Woods Park, Pavilion #2, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and share stories, laughter, and love in honor of Tom’s life, reflecting the joy he brought to all of us.

Condolences

The family of Thomas H. Roschen has received the following condolences.

Tom and I graduated in the same class. I knew him more from playing cards with Terry Bowe at Ferns apartment.
I’m sorry for your loss.

Surprised to find out about Tom’s passing away. During school at Mayo I saw Tom pretty much every day, he had the locker next to me. I got to know Tom a little and found his like of motorcycles cars trucks and more. I particularly recall Randy Larson “Chink” a friend of Tom’s had a car he had either cut in half or shortened. That was the coolest car I had ever seen. Tom was a great guy and had some interesting conversations with around the lockers. I don’t think I saw Tom very many times after Mayo 71. But will still miss him ✌🏻
