He graduated from Harmony High School where he was active in football, track and excelled in pole vaulting. He joined the Army in 1967 and served with the Co. A 1st Bat. 69th Armor in Vietnam. On March 14, 1971 he married Susan Maiers and they were later divorced. After his military service he worked at Tuohy Furniture in Chatfield where he added to his woodworking skills. Later he worked for Stone-Rock Tenn in Rochester for 37 years.
Terry is survived by his daughter Kathryn Elliott of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Elizabeth Dallas of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Bill (Judy) Elliott of Backus, MN, Jim (Cheryl) Elliott of Harmony, Garry (Cathy) Elliott of Decorah, Larry (Jean) Elliott of Plainview, Jon (Deb) Elliott of Canton and sisters; Susan (Roy) Davis of New Richland, WI, Joan (Chuck) Murphy of Stewartville, Rita (Jeff) Moen of Chatfield and Mary (Jeff) St. Mane of Eyota. Condolences
The family of Terrance Eugene Elliott has received the following condolences.
Terry was a great classmate and a wonderful friend. It was so great to have a male friend who was not only a great dancer, but also very kind. Terry was the kind of person who made you feel safe around him. He went to Viet Nam right after high school. He wrote me letters and was affected by the war--what he saw and experienced. I was happy he used his woodworking skills, because that was one of his gifts. I know he remains close in spirit to his family. My deepest sympathy goes to you.
My sincere thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I got to know Terry from the 63 club. He was always very friendly and nice to talk to. He always asked how I was doing. My girlfriend and I usually came together so if one of us was not there, he would ask about the other one. I will miss seeing him and you could pretty much always count on seeing him on Saturdays (when we went).
He had done some woodworking for my girl friend when she was getting ready to sell her house. He did an excellent job! I wished I would have known about his talent sooner so I could have hired him.
Take care and God bless!
Terry, Rest in peace. I will miss you. You where the best father-in-law a guy could have.
