Teresa L. Smith

Teresa Louise Smith, age 56 of Rochester, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on June 27, 2012 following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

Teresa Louise Verdeck was born on September 7, 1955 in Azle, Texas to Leonard and Lucille Verdeck. Following her childhood in the South, Teresa moved to Minnesota after marrying Terry Smith. She worked as the Retail Manager at the Dollar Tree (North Rochester) until she became unable to work due to her illness. Teresa was a hard working woman, who especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children: Christina, Michael and Brittany all of Rochester and three grandchildren: Ciana, Sophia, and Gavin.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Terry, who died in 2000.

A memorial service for Teresa is planned for Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11:00AM at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Bishop Brent Larson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
