Teresa A. Krause
Teresa A. Krause “Tish” (age 50) of Rochester, MN died peacefully in her home on September 22, after a two year battle with bile duct cancer.
Born Teresa Ann Scanlan to parents, Robert and Wilda (Pierce) of Canton, MN on September 19, 1966. She moved to Rochester as a young child and graduated from Mayo High School in 1985. Teresa dedicated 34 years working for the Mayo Clinic in a variety of positions, her most recent as a Health Unit Coordinator at St. Mary’s Hospital.
On March 4, 1996, Teresa married Steven J. Krause (Red Wing), a Police Officer for the Rochester Police Department. Together they lived in Rochester with their beloved “boys”; shih tzus Mickey and Charlie.
Teresa is survived by her husband; three sisters, Roberta “Bobbie” (Ronald) Broadwater, Tasa (Scott) Deden, Tonia (Britt) Fix and her brother Dennis (Carol) Scanlan. She is also survived by numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
“To Know Her Is to Love Her” is a perfect description of Teresa’s sparkling personality.
She was an amazing young woman who loved her family and friends with her whole heart. She oozed kindness and beauty which captivated every single person she met. She was always up for a chat and constantly complimenting and making other people feel good. She wanted to get the most out of life and never wanted to miss any opportunity.
We have all come to realize this precious woman had more strength than anyone could have ever realized. When she began life eight weeks premature and a little over 3 lbs, she fought for her life from her first breath to her very last.
Her life, right up to its end, was filled with the presence of family, friends, laughter and tears. The world will be missing out by the passing of this amazing woman at such a young age but she has, without any doubt, left a lasting impression on it.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Macken Funeral Home in the River Park Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Pax Christi Catholic Church and officiated by Rev. Joseph Fogel. Visitation prior to the funeral will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

If I had to name just one person who made me feel instantly welcome as a new employee, I'd have to name Tish. Her bright smile, sparkling eyes, delightful laugh, and genuine kindness brightened many a day. I am so glad I knew her. I share your sadness in Tish's passing and am keeping her and all who cared for her in prayer.

Just the tip of the iceburg of Tish's qualities.
Seriously, one could not possibly meet this Beautiful Soul and not feel the warmth of her Being surround you. I worked "with" Tish for a short while at Mayo, and honestly, I was in awe of HOW SWEET she was. I thought to myself, "how does she do that! ?" ? :)
Her passing undoubtedly leaves a hole in many hearts, but then again we all got a piece of the winning lottery ticket to have known her while she smiled on this earth.
My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to all of Tish's Family, Friends and Furries. Let us walk onward with a bit of her smile and a smidgen of her big beautiful love of everything! God Bless.
Theresa (aka TB)
Steve,

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” - Revelation 21:4
I am so sorry for your loss. Tish was an amazing person, and I am so grateful I had the pleasure of working with her. Sending prayers to her family during this difficult time.
I had the pleasure of working of working with Tish a number of years at Mayo. We formed a friendship that lasted over the years. I believe she was an angel here on earth. She often spoke of the love/gratitude she had for Steve, family, and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. May all your memories of Tish and the love of family/friends surround you and give you peace and strength in the days ahead.
My sympathy,
Tish was an amazing woman inside and out and I feel so lucky that I had the privilege of knowing her. She had the kindest and most sincere heart and always had a smile on her face. She will be forever missed and loved but never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers to her family.
I am so sad to hear of the passing of Tish. I had the pleasure of working with her for a number of years in Transcription. I will always remember her as a kind, caring person with a great attitude who always had a smile on her face. I will keep her family in my prayers during this most difficult time. Cherish all of the fun memories you had with her.
Tish had the strongest will to live that I've ever seen. I loved her like a little sister and miss her. Hopefully heaven is more beautiful than even she could imagine...hugging her mom and dad along with my dad.
I was sad when I read that Teresa had passed away. I haven't seen her in years, but we had been getting to know one another again through Facebook. I'm sorry that she passed away, but I'm thankful she is no longer in pain and is celebrating Easter with her Savior. My prayers for her family and friends.
In Christ,
Mark Dicke
I've had the pleasure of knowing Tish most of my life. When my family moved across the street from The Scanlan's my sister Teresa became instant best friends with Tish, and I gained an extra sister. We all grew up together and truly enjoyed each others company. Not only was she the nicest person you'll ever meet, but the strongest as most empathetic, as well. We will miss her terribly. Our heart goes out to Steve.
Words cannot express how saddened I feel for all of Tish's family and friends. She was an amazing woman--someone I looked up to and wished I could be more like. She was a joy to work with during my transcription years. Tish was such an inspiration, both in sickness and in health. God bless Tish and all of her loved ones!
Even though I haven't talked with Tish in several years, I still counted her among my friends. We met while working onsite at Office Support Services, and she was always more than willing to help out with ANYTHING I needed. I am deeply saddened by her passing but rejoicing with you that she is in Heaven now!!
ART IS A RETIRED POLICE OFFICER FROM ROCHESTER AND WE WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND SINCERE SYMPATHY TO STEVEN AND TERESA'S FAMILY. WE UNDERSTAND SHE WAS A WONDERFUL LADY AND WE ALL HURT FOR YOU.

I am so sorry to hear of Tish's passing. She was such a sweet and kind person! I worked with her when I first started at Documentation Services at Mayo, almost 18 years ago. She was always so helpful and always had a smile and a kind word! Peace and comfort to her family and loved ones.

So very sad to hear of Teresa's passing. I was a co-worker, now retired. I only have the kindest memories of Teresa. We didn't really have a lot of opportunities to work closely, but I do remember her as a very upbeat person. So very sorry to het family for their loss. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
First met Teresa working at Mayo in 2005. We were "pod-mates" sitting beside each other in Documentation Services. I moved out of state and Teresa always kept in touch; we emailed almost everyday. She was always so concerned about how I was doing. Just like others have said, she put others first. My sympathy and thoughts to you, Steve, and all of Teresa's family. We had lunch at McDonald's about one month ago, and I can still see her wonderful smile and hugs, even though I knew her time was coming,,, she was still kind, concerned, and strong. Will never forget my friend and coworker.... God Bless You Teresa... See you again in heaven.
Tish was a wonderful coworker and always with a cheerful hello and the biggest smile always. My thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through this very difficult time. May memories comfort you.
God Bless,
Suzanne
I first met Tish when she and Teresa were 10. I had the pleasure of watching them grow up to be strong loving women. Their friendship was extraordinary. It truly stood the test of time and distance. My prayers to all her family and friends. She will be missed. Maureen
i remember Tish as your Wife and Scanlan family sister. The image that I see when I think of her is as a girl coming home to Bob and Wilda's after school with her backpack. She babysat for us often. Such a nice girl that became a great woman as you all know. She is missed in this world by all who knew her. Sorry for your loss.
Our deepest and most sincere sympathies to Steve and to Tish’s brother and sisters and their families, Tish’s life long best friend Teresa, and Tish’s many, many friends.
Tish brought sunshine, kindness, laughter, compassion, joy and love to our lives. We are all better for knowing her. I feel so blessed to have had Tish as a friend and I think of her as nearly a sister. I thank God for her and though deeply grieving her loss I will rejoice in knowing Tish is in heaven and is at peace. Tish will never be forgotten and will live on in our stories and memories of her forever. And to Steve, Bobbie, Denny, Tasa and Tonia along with Tish you have shown us the meaning of family and true love.
God’s peace and comfort,
Jeff and Rhonda McCabe

I am filled with sadness with Tish's passing. I know how much her family will miss her. Please know that I am sending prayers
to all my cousins, her family, that they may know peace in this very hard time. It is good to remember that she is not suffering any longer,
but those left behind feel the pain of loss.
We are so sorry for your loss. Tish was an amazing person and she will be greatly missed. Sending love and prayers your way.
It is with great sadness that I, as one of Teresa's former coworkers at Documentation Services, learned of her passing. My God's Peace be with Teresa's husband, family, and friends during this time of grief.
To the family of Teresa, I am so sorry for your loss! I didn't know Teresa but talked with Bobbie many times about her struggles and her strenghts. May you find peace knowing what a wonderful legacy she left by the goodness and kindness she showed to everyone she came in contact with. God Bless all of you!
Your family has our deepest sympathy. We are so very sorry for your loss. I (Kathy) have known Tish since high school and had the pleasure of working with her at Documentation Services at Mayo as well. She was one of the most selfless, kind, compassionate individuals I have ever known and never had a bad word for anyone. She was truly an amazing woman whose life was cut much too short as the world needs more people like Tish. We hope in time your lovely memories of Tish will ease some of your pain and make your heart smile.--Kathy and Tod Rogers
I had the great opportunity to get to know Tish by going through the Mayo Clinic in-house training program and also working with her in the Transcription Department at Mayo Clinic. It was such a pleasure to see her smiling face every day and missed her when she decided to leave our department. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this very difficult time in your lives but knowing that Tish is now at peace and will be watching over you and guiding you through the rest of your lives.
Sincerely,
Colleen Herbst

A kinder person you will never meet. Tish, you left your footprint in our hearts, that is for sure. Your earthly-self may not be present, but your spirit will always be with us.....at every family event, at every gathering of friends, at every peaceful moment in our day. Love you always.
PLease accept our deepest sympathy. May God bless you, Steve, and your family. Our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Steve,
I never personally got the opportunity to meet Tish, but from all the comments I'm hearing from others - she modeled the qualities of a lovely person. Had I gotten the opportunity to meet her, my thoughts would of been WOW this is such a wonderful person and I'm so fortunate to call her friend. Take care Steve, you will be in my thoughts as you experience the difficult stages of grief and then some. Laura Thimijan
What a fantastic woman! Tish truly is one of the kindest people I have ever met. My condolences to Steve and the entire family. I will pray that you all can find the strength to get you through these trying times. Somehow, I think you will all also receive a little bit of assistance from your fine, new guardian angel, whom I am assured is looking over all.
Tish was an example to us all with her sincere and generous spirit, always smiling and welcoming others. She will be remembered fondly and with many smiles (and tears). Thoughts and prayers to Steve and her family and friends.
I got to know Tish when we were both in training for the medical secretary program at Mayo. She was always so kind, a bright spot in anyone's day. I worked with her for a few years out at Documentation Services on site before we all went home to work. Any tribute I read about Tish say variations of the same thing about her. That's because it's all true. She was without a doubt the kindest, gentlest, most beautiful soul I have ever had the privilege to meet. A group of us used to meet for lunch when we were on site, and we'd always be shocked if Tish said a four-letter word. We teased her and said it was like hearing Minnie Mouse swear :). It seems so unfair that she was taken from this life she enjoyed so much so soon, yet I totally understand God wanting her back, because I want her back here with US. Tish was such a gift to this world while she was here, and she has made a lasting impression on countless lives. God bless Tish--though we all know she's in heaven right now whooping it up--and God bless all her family and loved ones as they grieve this tremendous loss. My prayers and heart go out to you all.
Heartfelt condolences to all family and friends of Tish. Growing up...she was the cool aunt I wanted but never had. Her smile...unforgetable...her love for her family...immeasurable. Thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
Love
Carmen
Our hearts and prayers are with Steve and all of Tish's family. She is now your angel watching over you.
