Susan Kay Nelson, 67, of Rochester, MN, died Monday, February 21, 2022 at St. Marys Hospital.
Sue was born July 25, 1954 in Rochester, MN to Lorn and Rozina Nelson. Sue spent most of her life in Rochester where she raised her three children.
Sue was a hardworking, devoted, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and the chance to unwind with an iced coffee and a good book. She loved taking care of everyone including the birds, squirrels and deer that would come to her door. She spent many years working at Red Owl grocery store and over 20 years working at Mayo Clinic where she planned to retire later this year.
She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Nelson of Rochester, MN and Ashley Nelson of Rochester, MN; son Brandon Nelson of Rochester, MN; seven grandchildren, two sisters and a brother.
She is proceeded in death by her mother and father, one sister and brother in law.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Pastor Marla Rotman officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service.
Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.

So sorry to hear of her passing - she was much too young!
I am so sorry for your loss. I have known Sue close to 45 years. In most recent years I received and sent emails from her reminiscing about the past! A lot of memories! She will be dearly missed. Thoughts and prayers for the family.
I worked with Sue for several years. Sue was such a gentle loving soul. Loved her laugh most of all. My prayers to the family of Sue. Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". My prayer is this....May the Lord bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time, and may you all draw nearer to Jesus. Rest easy my friend in the arms of Jesus.......until we meet again. I had the pleasure of working with Sue for several years in Mayo Clinic's Release of Information department. She had a generous spirit, was a very giving person, and shared her wonderful sense of humor with all of us in the office. I'm so very, very sad and sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
So sorry for your loss she was a great mother and grandmother. she will be missed dearly prayers to Ashley Jessica and Brandon.
