Steven L. Easley

Steve Easley, 57, of Rochester, MN, passed away on Saturday (June 28th, 2014), after fighting courageously against cancer, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus.

Steve was born May 31, 1957 to James and Drusilla (Toohey) Easley.  He graduated from Mayo High School in 1976.  He was married to Robin Schneider in August of 1984, they had twins together, but later divorced in 1999.  In August of 2007, he married Brenda Easley.  He worked as an Expeditor for IBM and retired after 30 years.

Steve was a music lover and collector, and enjoyed every genre he discovered.  He also enjoyed a good sports game, whether it was on TV or in a stadium.  Steve was well traveled and had a very kind and loving personality, and was always fast to forgive in order to move on to happier times.  Out of all of the things he had a passion for, his greatest joy came from spending time with his children and family.  He would say again and again how proud he was of his family and the great things they are doing.  Steve had endless amounts of love that we only wish we could have matched.  Steve will be missed immensely and loved forever.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; the twins, Alison and Travis; a stepson, Codey; his mother, Drusilla; two brothers, Mark (Charla) and Greg (Sandy); a sister; Jayne; nieces and nephews, Michael, Lauren, Hannah, and Bryan; and uncles, aunts, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his father, James; his aunt and uncle, Wanda and Leo; and his cousin, Jana.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday (July 7th, 2014) at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I worked with Steve at IBM and was a friend. As the obituary states he loved his children and talked about them all the time. God has a angel.
