The funeral for Steven J Siegle will be at 11:00 am October 9, 2012 at The River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN with Pastor Paul Bauch officiating. Burial will be in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson, MN . Visitation wll be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 8, 2012 at The River Park Chapel Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Steve Siegle, 48, of Stewartville, MN, died Thursday (October 4th, 2012) at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, in LaCrosse, WI from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Steve was born January 23, 1964 in Rochester, MN to Jim Siegle and Judy Koperski. He graduated from Dover-Eyota High School in 1982.
On September 23, 1993 he married Cindy Markstrom in Rochester, MN. They resided in Rochester until 2004 when they moved to Stewartville.
Steve was a finish carpenter, cabinetmaker and most recently employed by Alvin E. Benike Construction.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; parents Judy and Rich Koperski, Jim (Carrie) Siegle, brother Jay Siegle; step-sister Shelly (Andy) Romness; grandmother Evelyn Ihrke; aunt and uncle Jeanne and Judd Watson; nieces and nephews Jamie Waltz, Rhonda (Watson) Lambrecht; Amanda Brakefield, Krysta Siegle, Nick Orr, Sally Sykora and Aaron Sykora, Katherine Jones and Joey Jones. He was preceded in death by grandparents Rev. John and Florence Siegle, Leland Ihrke; and nephew Jeff Orr.
Steve’s passions were riding his motorcycle and hunting with his beloved yellow Lab Brooke. He enjoyed listening and dancing to music, traveling, the outdoors and bee keeping.
Memorials are preferred to Ride Away SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy). Funds may be directed to Wells Fargo, Rochester, MN.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness they provided.

Cindy, Jay & Judy, I am so sorry hear of Steve's passing. We only got to ride together a few times but they were memorable times for sure. He was a great mentor in high school on the football field as well as life in general. Very fond memories and will always smile when I think of his smirk/ grin.
