Condolences
The family of Steven C. VonWald has received the following condolences.
I am so sorry to learn of Steve's passing. The Von Walds were such a big part of my growing up years. Almost like a second family.
I didn't get a chance to know Steve real well, but I remember his smile and that he was always kind to me - his little sister's friend.
Bill, Judy, Rita, Sherriff Charles, my thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Steve worked many years with my Dad Stanley Dale Anderson at the Sheriff’s office. I personally knew Steve too very good Person. Always a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.
To Chuck and the Von Wald family,
Mike and I were so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. For me it is the loss of a family member. My sisters and I had many Van Hook/ Von Wald picnics and get togethers. For Mike, it is the loss of a work colleague. Basic skills to retirement, they were in it together. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn Steve’s passing.

My thoughts and prayers to the Von Wald family. I worked with Steve for many years and appreciated that he was straightforward, but supportive. You may not have liked his response to a question or a situation, but he would throw in some B.S. to make you feel better. We got along well. He will be missed. I am sorry that I cannot be there to say goodbye.

I met & knew Steve when Jeri Fix & I were in College together & lived together. I liked Steve from the first time I met him through Jeri. Participated at their wedding, & always kept in touch with them by driving to Eyota from the Twin Cities.
My deepest condolences in the passing of Steve. I will always have a smile when I think of him. A great guy who passed too soon. May God bring you comfort.⚡️✨ ⭐️
My sincerest condolences to the entire VonWald family. It was a great time working with Steve. He had a heart of gold with genuine concern for everyone. He had an unusual approach to things and made work fun. As has been said, he had an awesome laugh. When I heard that laugh down the hallway in the morning, I knew the Boss was here. Rest in Peace my friend!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I'm sure cousin Steve is in a better place.
I have fond memories of Steve at our family get togethers.

My sympathy to all the members of the VonWald Family. I connected with both Steve and his Father when I was assigned to Rochester, Minnesota with the FBI. Steve was a credit to Olmsted County as well as the Law Enforcement Community. God Bless him and all of his family member.
Wow, what a loss for you Malinda and your family. Steve's amazing outgoing personality was missed so much when he left the Sheriff's Office. I'll never forget his words to me when I was hurt at work, as frustrated as I was he pulled me into his office and had me laughing when I left, what a great touch he had. He was absolutely wonderful to work with, a great guy who will be missed....but always remembered with a laugh and a smile. A great legacy!
