The family of Sister Joyce Stemper has received the following condolences.
To the family of Sister Joyce,
We send our Prayers and sympathy to Sister Joyce's family. She lived a life of service to others and was a great example for all of us of a of a life well lived. I remember the early years of gathering at Grandma and Grandpas house in Caledonia on Sundays, playing with cousins at the playground by her house and without cellphones? May the memories that each have of Sister Joyce be a reminder of the important things of life.
Al and Judy Stemper
Joyce was a gift to our Spirit of St. Stephens Catholic Community; she offered wisdom and perseverance in the cause of justice both locally and internationally. Never a loud voice but steady and true. We will include her in our Book of Life and Litany of Saints.
Sister Joyce was one of a kind! She lived the Franciscan charisms every year of her life. She was a dear friend of my parents, Mary and Carl, and she is one of the reasons I was guided into liturgical music as a very young child, along with my brother Francis! She was my brother's first grade teacher at Sacred Heart School in Adams, and became a lifelong family friend of ours along with my aunt and uncle Mary and Bob Stier. May she now experience God's compassionate presence, which she brought to so many during her lifetime!
