Shirley Marie Neylon

Shirley Marie Neylon, 80, of Rochester, Minnesota died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 28,2021. She was born January 19, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa to Wayne and Ruth Prieast. She attended East High School and Drake University in Des Moines.

She married John Neylon in 1961 and they made their home in Des Moines until 2009 when they moved to Rochester.

Shirley, along with her husband John, owned and operated Custom Printing and Mailing location in De Soto, Iowa until retiring in 2001.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite memories were spending every summer at her cabin on Hinds Lake in Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Survivors include her son Tim (Jenny) and daughter Jennifer of Rochester; sister Bonnie (Tom) Miller of Park Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Hunter, Jacob, Jackie; five great grandchildren, and her dog Roxie.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be at a later date at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Park Rapids, MN.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial to be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Hubbard County Food Shelf.

Sorry we could not drive to her visitation and funeral.  Age just seems to creep up.


Our sympathy goes out to you two.  You cared for her greatly and she loved you dearly.
