Sharon A. Neubauer

Sharon Ann Neubauer – Rochester

Sharon Ann Neubauer, 83, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home Friday March 6, 2026.

Sharon was born June 13, 1942 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Edwin and Mary (Schmalen) Draman.  In 1961 she graduated from Emmetsburg Catholic High School where she was an avid 4-H youth receiving many recognitions in local and regional fairs for her livestock, gardening, sewing, and baking skills.

On June 6, 1965, Sharon married Donald William Neubauer of Rochester, Minnesota and the beginning of a marriage of nearly six decades until his passing in December 2024.  The couple lived their entire married lives in Rochester and were long time members of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Sharon received her nursing degree from St. Mary’s School of Practical Nursing in Rochester and spent 38-years practicing within the Mayo Clinic system.

Sharon was an avid gardener, seamstress, and baker throughout her life showering herself and her family with her many tasty and beautiful creations.  In her younger years she spent many summer days enjoying the outdoors with her husband, kids, and grandkids fishing, swimming, camping, and just helping them to grow in life.  In her later years enjoyment came from watching great-grandchildren and the many exploratory adventures they experienced in their early years.

Sharon is survived by her sons Gary (Joan) of Troy, Ohio and Jon of Saginaw, Minnesota, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Audrey Bullerman of Waterloo, Iowa.  She was proceeded in death by her husband Donald and her parents Edwin and Mary.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday April 25, 2026, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home Rochester.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service.  A private graveside burial service will occur at Bear Creek Cemetery in Grand Meadow, Minnesota.

Sharon’s family wishes to pass along their deepest appreciation to the Mayo Clinic Eisenberg Outpatient Dialysis Unit for the compassionate care they provided her over many years.

Memorials are preferred to Bethel Lutheran Church Music Department and the Iowa 4-H Foundation.

Condolences

The family of Sharon A. Neubauer has received the following condolences.

Dear Neubauer Family,

We mourn the death of your dear Mom, Sharon (AKA “Grandma” & “Great-Grandma”).  Our friendship spans over many years with Sharon and Don; having many good memories of vacation times and spending the weekend up at their cabin in Wisconsin during the Cranberry festival.  Sharon dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  In all the years we have known Sharon, she never once complained about her illness and accepted the rigorous dialysis treatments 3 times a week.  Her spirituality and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus, was apparent and we treasure the years of our friendship.  We will miss her wit, her humor and her zest for life.  She and Don raised a wonderful family and we know in our hearts she is reunited with her Lord and Savior, her dear husband and loved ones who have gone before her.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with you all,

George and JoAnn Topness

Dear Gary, Jon and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Sharon's death, sending you all my sympathy and prayers.

i worked with Sharon at Methodist Hospital and remained friends throughout the years. I would always look for her and Don at Bethel and catch up on what they were doing.

May God grant you peace and keep you all in his care 🙏
