Shannon Reuss
Shannon Reuss, 45 of Eyota, MN passed away on October 18, 2015, in her home after an eleven and a half year journey with Ovarian Cancer.
Shannon Marie (Helfritz) Reuss was born on April 18, 1970 in Columbus, OH to William and Janice (Greiner) Helfritz. She graduated from Watertown High School (MN) and attended St. Olaf College receiving a B.A. in Nursing in 1992. On July 10, 1993, she married Peter Reuss in Watertown, MN. Shannon worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in the VA Hospital System from 1992 through 1997 before staying home to raise their son, Benjamin. In her spare time, she started a business, Treefrog Treasures, building one of the premier retailers of military miniatures in the world. She prided herself on building relationships within the industry and will be greatly missed. Her work took her around the world, with cherished trips to Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, Shanghai and London.
Singing always played an important role in Shannon’s life. Every church she was a member of benefited from her lovely voice. Shannon had a passion for genealogy, meticulously researching her family tree. She loved nature, taking walks in the woods, spending time at the lake, and taking photos to savor it all.
Shannon is survived by her husband Peter, her son Benjamin, her parents of Wells, MN, her brother William (Tara) Helfritz II of Rosemount, MN, her sister Laura (Rondedrick) Sinville of Otsego, MN as well as numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 11:00AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Rochester with Bishop Steven Delzer and Pastor Dan Doering officiating. Visitation will held on Tuesday evening, October 20, 2015 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one and one-half hours prior to the service at Good Shepherd. Shannon’s ashes will be laid to rest at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church of Eyota, and will be used to create a food pantry for the city of Eyota.

Pete and Reuss family -
I feel great sadness.
Just at the time I was returning to my old interest in toy soldiers - K&C Crusaders had triggered my passion - I discovered Treefrog.
Who would have thought - girls selling toy soldiers?
But Shannon and her team were knowledgeable, professional and friendly, honest and helpful, and gave me the impression of having been in business for a long time (which it appears was not the case!). They knew their stuff, and shared what they knew. The Treefrog "attitude" - which must have originated with Shannon - was just what this newbie needed. I've stuck with Treefrog for quite a few years now, and never found any reason to look for another vendor.
I now have upwards of 1,000 figures on 15 shelves, thanks to Shannon. My father, who loved toy soldiers (in a different age, it is true) would have approved.
Shannon will greatly be missed, but the Treefrog "culture" which she created is in good hands and will be with us for a long time, I trust. As will her memory.

A great and lovely lady sadly has gone, hopefully to a better world where there is no nasty sickness but where she can carry on the good work she did in the modelworld here on planet earth.
My heartfelt condolences to Shannon's family and friends. I just lost my wife of 42 years, Wendy, to lung cancer so I truly feel your pain.
Like many other Treefrog customers I never met Shannon in person, but everytime I corresponded with Treefrog Treasures I was writing to her and always received a warm and friendly response. She was a beautiful woman in so many ways. I'm glad Treefrog Treasures will carry on as her legacy. I know she is with her God. May her memory live on in all those who knew and love her.
Aloha and Mahalo, Shannon,

My deep condolences on your loss.
I would like to extend my deepest condolences at this very difficult time to Shannon's family and friends. While she is in good hands now, it is up to those of us still living to carry the grief and mourn her passing. Most of all we must remember the good things and good times and commemorate her achievements. While I never met Shannon in person I had the opportunity to speak and write to her. Each occasion was positive and uplifting !! I share your feelings about Shannon and I know her legacy will continue.
Dear Peter and family, as well friends at Treefrog,
I just opened my computer to read eagerly Shannon's weekly news and learnt with sorrow that she was no longer with us. From far away Buenos Aires - Argentina please accept my deeply felt condolences for the loss of a great lady, affecting the toy soldier community everywhere. She is no longer suffering and with our Lord. From there she will continue to watch and protect you forever.
Vicente
To the Reuss family. I have been a Treefrog customer for several years and looked forward each week to Shannon's column, if I may call it as such. Reading it made me feel as if I knew her and a very nice lady she seemed to be, too. I am shocked and saddened to hear the news. For her to accomplish all that she did in view of her adversities is remarkable. But you know that better than I. My prayers and thoughts go to all of you.
When we lose a loved one here on earth, we gain an angel in heaven who watches over us. May you take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. I extend my most sincere condolences to you and the Treefrog Treasures family.
Sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Ian and Bill
