Sandra Kay Leiferman

Sandra Kay Leiferman (Crew) passed away at home on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 28, 1944 to Dale and Winifred Crew (Buttruff). She lived on a farm with her family until age 7, when her father passed away. It was there her love of animals began. Sandra attended John Marshall High School. On June 26, 1965, she married Gregg Leiferman. They had two sons, John and Gregg Jr.

Sandra was a homemaker but because of her love for children, later became a daycare provider for family friends, nieces, and nephews. In her lifetime, Sandra enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening, watching the Minnesota Twins, and attending a spring training. Above all, Sandra loved spending time with her family, whom she adored. She had a huge heart and was gentle, kind, loving, thoughtful, and generous. Sandra will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Gregg; sons, John (Heather) Leiferman and Gregg Leiferman Jr.; grandchildren, Ethan, Ella, and Brayden Leiferman; sister-in-law, Donna Tollesrud; brother-in-law, Steve Bendeckson; and her nieces and nephews who worshiped and adored her. Blessed be her memory.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Olson and Diane Nelson.

The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, with Rev. James Berning officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

While I never had the opportuninty to meet Sandra in person, your dad Gregg, your aunt Donna and my family have known each other since grade school,

playing down at Kutzky Park, in the basement of his parents house on the corner of 11th Ave and 2nd St NW.

I hope you find solace in knowing your mother is in a better place and is reunited with her parents and others who have gone before her..

Gregg, so sorry to hear about your wife’s passing. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I worked with you at Reynolds. Take care

I am so sorry to learn of Sandy's passing. Greg & the boys, I know how hard this must be for you. We have to face these terrible events in our lives but it's so painful. She was really a saint! So kind, thoughtful and loving. Please, I wish I could be there for her service, but I have Dr appointments that day at Mayo....I have cancer treatments. Take care and be able to feel peace in knowing that she is definitely in heaven!

There is an old saying that the measure of a person can be judged by the quality of their children. Knowing John, I am certain she is a very special lady who will be missed tremendously. The Meeks boys extend their deepest condolences and will be praying for all of you.
