Sandra K. Gruszynski
Sandra K. Gruszynski, 74, of Rochester passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Seasons Hospice. She was born on July 22, 1944 in Rochester to Adolph and Marian (Koelsch) Gruszynski.
Survivors include her sister, Pat Swarthout; brothers, Richard (Kathy) Gruszynski, John (Sandy) Gruszynski, and Jim (Kaye) Gruszynski; her very special Dachshund companion, Duglas; nieces, Kathryn Lee, Linda (John) O’Connell, Brenda (Jerry) Purdue, Gretchen (George) Strickland, Nikki Gruszynski, Sara Lyon; nephews, Mike (Bernadine) Lee, Kevin (Vickie) Lee, Brian (Tracy) Swarthout, Brad (Teresa) Gruszynski Greg Gruszynski, Matthew (Claudia) Gruszynski and Gabral (Yashira) Gruszynski; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Dachshunds (Willie, Jeffrie, Timuthe, Jona and Karl).
Sandra had degrees in Political Science, History and Chemistry. She worked many years at Mayo Clinic as a Chemistry Laboratory Technician before retiring in 2009.
She was very fond of Dachshund dogs and Penguins. She enjoyed camping, reading, word jumbles, walking and spending time with family members.
A memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at St. Pius Catholic Church with Father Russell Scepaniak officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice.
