Sandra E. Doering

Sandra (Schulz) Doering, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Rochester on February 5, 2026.

Sandra was born on June 27, 1945, to Elgar and Lorraine (Hovda) Schulz. She was raised and educated in Grand Meadow, MN.  She graduated from Grand Meadow High School in 1964.

Sandra met the love of her life, John Doering of Wykoff, MN, and they were married on August 2, 1969. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and made their home in Rochester, where they raised their daughter, Lisa.

Throughout her working years, Sandra was self-employed as a daycare provider and house cleaner. While she took pride in her work, her most cherished role came in retirement, when she lovingly provided daycare for her granddaughter, Ashlyn — a time she treasured deeply. Sandra found joy in cooking and gardening and was a devoted fan of The Statler Brothers, attending many concerts over the years.

She especially enjoyed summers spent with family in Alexandria, MN, and time with friends at the Eagles Club. Friday night fish fries and Wednesday car shows were favorites, and Sandra was well known for arriving early to claim her favorite table.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband, John; her daughter, Lisa Lee (Brad Johnson); and her granddaughter, Ashlyn Lee, all of Rochester. She is also survived by her sisters, Janet Ludescher and Marcia Tuve of Rochester; her brother, David (Becca) Schulz of Grand Meadow; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Dale Schulz; her parents; and many other cherished family members and friends.

The funeral service for Sandra will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00AM at Bethel Lutheran Church with Pastor Anjanette Bandel officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in the Spring Valley, MN Cemetery immediately following.

The family wishes to thank the Mayo Clinic Hospice staff for the loving care and support given to Sandra (and John/Lisa) during her final months.
