Ruby Ann Lange

Ruby Ann Lange, age 83 of Rochester, passed away October 15, 2019 at Seasons Hospice.

Ruby Ann Nelson was born on July 4, 1936 in Rochester, MN to Einar and Amelia Violet Nelson. During and after graduation from Rochester High School in 1954, she was employed by Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator and in the service observing department. In 1958, she moved to Yakima, WA. She returned to Rochester and worked as a bookkeeper for Fullerton Lumber Company until her marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Lange, on November 11, 1961. She lived in Temple, TX and then Killeen, TX while Mr. Lange was in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Hood, TX. In Texas, she worked for Work Clothes Rental Company. They returned to Rochester where she was a homemaker until she returned to work for Northwestern Bell, known later as AT&T, from 1973 until she retired.

She will be missed by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 58 years, Jerry; four daughters, Lisa (Jon), Linda (Mike), Lindsey, La Rayne (Lance); grandchildren, Breanna (Jarrod), Anna, Maggie, Brian, J.D., Jessica, Sammy, Nick, Andrew, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Mia, Jackson, Pierson, Sully, Aubree, and Max and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Braxton; infant sister, Violet Mae; sister, Marjorie and two brothers.

Ruby enjoyed traveling, flowers,  power walking, coffee club at McDonald’s, eating at Perkins and Culvers, debating politics, reading, laughing, and most of all being with her precious family. She had a special bond with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The funeral for Ruby will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Les Stevens officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery.

Our hearts are broken but Ruby taught us to be strong and gracious even in times of sorrow.  She was an example of what selflessness means and she will forever be remembered!
