“I was born in Kalmar Township in Olmsted County on June 22, 1929. I grew up and lived in the Byron area almost all of my life. I attended school at Salem Corners and Byron School, played football, basketball, where I graduated in 1947.

Kathleen (Dave) Yennie and Linda (Tim) McPhee both of Byron and Tresa Martinez of Waunakee, Wisc. There are 16 Grand Children and 14 Great Grand Children. One brother, Harold (Neva) of Rural Byron. Preceded in death by my parents Harvey and Floy and brother Leo and a sister Marjorie (Ralph) Cutting of Byron and one grandson, Darin McPhee of Byron.
I enjoyed being with my family, doing volunteer work at Christ Lutheran Church where I was a member. I enjoyed golfing, playing cards and bowling, where in 1999 Bob Moen and I won 1st Place in the Minnesota State Bowling Tournament B Division.
I worked 19 years as milkman in Rochester and surrounding towns. I drove school bus for Byron school for 28 years and farmed along with bus driving for about 20 years in the Salem Corners area.
In the winter of 1961–1962, I attended several meetings with the Rochester Suburban Youth Baseball Association and I got Byron started in youth Baseball in 1962. I also helped coach and transport the 13 to 15-year-old teams for years.”
