Roy A. Stewart

The memorial service for Roy A. Stewart will be at 11:00am Wednesday, April 30 at the River Park Chapel of the Macken Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Docken officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester with military rites provided by American Legion Post 92.   Visitation will be one hour in advance of the service on Wednesday.

Roy, 62 of Chatfield, formerly of Stewartville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday April 26 at St Marys Hospital.

Roy was born December 25, 1951 in Rochester to Walter and Shirley Stewart. He was raised in Rochester and later entered the Marines during the Viet Nam War. Roy married Karen Danielson on August 17, 1974 and she passed away in January of 2004. Living in Rochester he worked for Crenlo and also owned an auto shop, Speed and Customs.  He later worked for Elcor and also had a spray washing business in Rochester and Texas. Due to failing health he retired.

Roy is survived by his mother Shirley Stewart of Stewartville, fiancée Jill Nordeng of Chatfield, a daughter Nicole (Yung) Ly of Stewartville and grandchildren, Jordan and Emma Ly both at home.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, brother, sister and wife.

An avid outdoorsman, Roy liked to fish, hunt and pan for gold.  Being with family and friends was Roy’s greatest love.
