Ross Anthony Stensrud, 61, or Rochester, MN, died Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Ross was born November 11, 1962, in Austin, MN to Dewey and Anita Stensrud. He graduated from Rochester John Marshall High School in 1981. He married Sandy Sullivan at Marion Church of Christ, Rochester, MN. The couple lived in Rochester, MN. They were married from June 20, 1984, and divorced in 2011. To this union were born three sons, Travis 36, Dominic, 34, and Nicholas, 33.
Ross worked in construction in his younger years. Then was a Union glazer most of his adult life, which he loved. He loved his family first, and this includes Debi Hodenfield. They met in 2020 and had five wonderful years together. She brought joy back into his life. He is survived by: Debi; his sons, Travis, Dominic, and Nicholas; his beloved grandson Braiden; his sister, Tammy Nielsen and her husband Larry and their sons Erik and Alex from St. Charles, MN; as well as many aunts and uncles that loved him dearly. He is also survived by his two little buddies (dogs) Cooper and Parker.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Anita, and father, Dewey, grandparents, Virginia and Galen Raymond, Emma and Lawrence Stensrud, and several aunts and uncles.
The Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Marion Road Christian Church, 4051 50th Ave SE, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A luncheon will follow the service with burial at the Marion Cemetery after.

My condolences to you all. I met ross when i was in middle school when myself some friends and Dominic would hang out after school or durning the summers. Even after many years i would run into ross he would always say hi and have a smile on. I recently ran into him about a year ago at work at the hospital he said hi and we talked about my how i just purchased my first harley. Every day when i would run into him he would always greet me joke with me and always tell me to stay out of trouble before walking away. He always talked about his family in our conversations and all the milestones that came along the way. Ross you will be missed by many. And i will miss hearing your voice and laughter coming down the hall. May you rest in peace.
