Condolences

The family of Rosemary Matzke has received the following condolences.

I was so sad to hear the news of Rosie's passing.  I do know that she is in a better place and with her beloved John!!  I loved her so much!! She was so very important in my life and such a great influence in the career path I chose.  I will forever hold those memories of Matzke's  (both downtown on Broadway and Miracle Mile) close to my heart!! I still have one of the sewing machines she and John sold my parents for my graduation.  I loved stopping in to see them in the store when I would come home for a visit from Texas.  They were some of the most generous and loving people I have ever met!!  They were such a friend to my beloved Auntie Lou as she worked for them for probably 30 years.  The influence and love she showed my whole family can not be described.  She will be so deeply missed.  I always made a point of stopping in to see her in her later years every single time I came to Rochester.  I loved talking sewing and embroidery to her and will always think of her every time I see the color purple!!  I could write an obituary for this lady that would be a mile long!! She was a "tough 'ole broad" but a heart of gold!! Rest in peace Rosie and give John a hug from me.  I can see that smile now!!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of M8ke's mother. I remember her when we'd go in to their Sewing Shop.

May she RIP.

SINCERELY, JOHN VAN CUYK

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Rosemary.  She was a wonderful lady and along with your Dad, were very respected and loved in the city of Rochester.  I graduated with Mike from Lourdes in 1964 and our two families crossed paths many times over the years.  Rosemary is now at peace and with her husband.  Peace to you all.
