Rosemary Armstrong
Rosemary Armstrong, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at her home in Rochester, MN.
She was born on October 15, 1957, to Thomas and Norma (Kulsrud) Armstrong. Rosemary grew up in McIntire, Iowa and graduated from Riceville High School in 1975. Upon graduation she moved to Rochester, Minnesota where she would embark on a 39-year career working as a surgical technician at the world-renown Mayo Clinic, retiring in 2014. Retirement was not in Rosemary’s vocabulary. She quickly started a second career as a residence concierge at The Waters Senior Living on Mayowood until her passing.
Rosemary enjoyed her life to the fullest. Her greatest joy was being with “R” family, supporting them all anyway she could. She was a pillar of support for those in need, selflessly offering a helping hand, touching so many people’s hearts. You could find Rose seeking freedom and adventure while riding her motorcycle with her friends all over the country, including her favorite place in the world, Bear Tooth Pass. Many of her days would be spent at peace playing in the yard followed by gathering at her famous firepit or sharing laughs at Applebee’s. Her long strolls with her beloved golden retriever Nellie or grand-pup Murphy were also times for check-ins with her loved ones.
Rosemary is survived by “R” family: Debra (Greg) Conger of Riceville, Thomasine Conger (Danny Warner) of Riceville, Scott Armstrong, and Amy Armstrong of Rochester, MN. Nieces and Nephews: Nicholas Armstrong (Alexis Groux), Tena Conger, Joseph Conger (Morgan), Thomas Conger (Nikki), Christopher Conger (Sarah), Ashley Conger. Great-Nieces and Nephews: Caden, Emmett, Kami, Clayton, McCoy, Greyson, Mason, Madison, Mallory. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Norma Armstrong.
Life is Good.
The Celebration of Life Gathering for Rosemary will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 in the River Park Reception Hall at Macken Funeral Home.

My farher lived at the waters she was an amazing lady always so happy sorry for your loss family of Howard Borgen
I loved Rosemary. She made my life a lot easier, and she will be sorely missed here at the Waters.
Always a smile, helping hand and encouragement, no matter what the situation or circumstance. Rosey taught me more of what I know than I can say. A true teacher in life and at work. All the notes here about her second "career" don't surprise me one bit; she has taken care of all of us at one time or another. I am a better person for having known her. A true joyful spirit.
Mom and I are so sorry to hear about Rosemary's passing. She was such a bright, shining light at the Waters.....a real firecracker! She was an outstanding member of the team. She will be missed and remembered by so many people. It was a joy to know her! May you all find peace at this tender moment.
Patty McPherson (and Betty, a resident of the Waters)
Rosemary was the friendliest person to greet us when my mom entered The Waters. She always had a smile and asked how mom was doing. She loved her job and her family. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed. Sending blessings to her family and friends.. Praying Life is Good in heaven❤️

To the family of Rosemary,
I had the great pleasure of sharing many laughs and jokes with Rosemary at The Waters. My brother lives there. She brought great joy and love to the residents there. I loved sharing tidbits of life in general whether from MN or Iowa. Laughter was never in short supply when Rosemary was present.
Sending her love, laughter and heart as she watched all overhead.
Hugs to you dear Rosemary.
My deepest sympathy to Rosemary's family. I have great memories of Rosemary, we worked together, lived together, and spent many fun days at the old VFW. Rosemary was a bridesmaid in our wedding in 1984. I am so sorry to miss the Celebration of Life, as we are out of town. Rest easy, Rosebush. Deb and Dewey
I was so sorry to hear from my parents about the passing of Rosemary. They have lived at The Waters the past four years, and I was always so happy to see Rosemary when I came to visit. She was always a ray of sunshine and it gave me comfort to know that she was one of the people looking out for them. It was obvious she loved her job and the residents. My deepest sympathy on your loss.
We are so very sorry to hear of Rosemary's passing. She was a constant bright light at the Waters after my parents moved in 8 years ago and she will be missed. She was aways ready to help. Her sunny smile, caring heart and positive outlook always brightened our day. May her family and friends find peace in their happy memories.
A beautiful soul who provided comfort and support for us as a family. Always willing to do whatever was needed and did so with a smile and a word of encouragement. There's a special place in heaven for you Rosemary. Be at peace......
Oh Rosy…. Met her through family friends and she was truly one of a kind she could light up a room with her contagious. Laughter always talked about her niece and many nephews -everyone loved her. When they called her face would light up. She often talked about going down to Iowa and though sometimes would complain you knew it was her favorite place on earth was in complete shock upon hearing this news. Hope they find the answers and pray it wasn’t anything to do with the knee she was So proud of that knee. Love ya rosy
I would like to send my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Rosemary. So very sad to hear this news.
I only knew her briefly when visiting my parents at the Waters but she was always such a loving and caring presence when I saw her and I was always so thankful to see her behind the desk with her warm smile and humor. She was so very kind and even offered to help me in any way she could with my parents as I live hours away. Such a wonderful human.
Wishing you Peace & Love in the days ahead.
I will never forget her.
Amy, Nick and her loving Family,
My heart is heavy with grief on the news of Rosemary's passing. I can't imagine how your hearts are feeling. May these condolences give you some Peace and Comfort during these difficult days. Her wonderful smile, laughter, stories and beautiful attire bring warmth to my heart as I will remember her fondly. Rose was always so kind, sweet and generous with her time to help out any of us. Her adventurous life was always so full and interesting. I will wear her 'gift of socks' in memory of a life well lived and with so much love. My Sincere Sympathy
There will be an absence in the world without Rosemary in it. Ride to the heavens Godspeed. Our deepest sympathies to the family.

I met Rosemary on our motorcycles in South Dakota. Rosemary was one of those very rare people that you were a friend the moment you met her.
Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.

Rosemary was very caring and she will be missed by many! Sending hugs to her family!
Thank you for sharing Rosemary with our family! There were no bad days when Rose was around, she brought so much light and love everywhere she went! Our family is extremely grateful for the extra time she spent checking in on Grandma and Grandpa P. She will be greatly missed.
It was with great sadness I read about Rosemary’s sudden passing. For more than 20 years, Rosy worked by my side at SMH as a surgical technician. She rapidly proved to be a great asset to our team, no matter the complexities of the case on hand. She was bright, a quick learner and most reliable assistant who had obvious technical skills and good teaching abilities to help the young residents. After I retired more than 20 years ago she was truly missed.
To all her relatives and friends I want to offer my most sincere condolences and state that she was trustworthy and had a kind heart.
WE SEND OUR SYMPATHIES TO THE ARMSTRONG FAMILY.
A very special lady who was very caring and appreciated by everyone. She will be missed by everyone who meet her. Char will meet her as she enters heaven
Thoughts and prayers to the all of the family and friends. Growing up just down the block from Rosemary’s parents, I would get to see the family quite often. May you find comfort and peace in the memories you shared in these difficult days and the ones to come.
Ellen (Affeldt) and Dave Felper and family
Rosemary was my favorite person who I never met. Hearing great things about her from her brother!

My heart breaks for all of you! There are no answers when things like this happen, especially when someone is as loved as Rosemary is. May our love and prayers bring you strength through this difficult time, and may our Lord wrap His loving arms around each of you.
