Rose Louise Hanson

Rose Louise Hanson, 92, of Rochester, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 at Rochester East Nursing Home.

Rose was born on September 20, 1926 to Peter and Magdalena (Finken) Williams in Freeport, MN. She married Everett H. Hanson on October 17, 1951 in Rochester.

Rose worked at Red Owl and Super Valu grocery stores retiring in 1985. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona and liked to sew, knit, crochet, cook and bake. Rose used her talents to make and donate hundreds of mittens and hats for newborns through Christmas Anonymous. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Rose is survived by her husband, Everett of Rochester; four sons, Thomas (Kim) of South Kingston, RI, William of Kasson, Paul (Kerri) of Oronoco, and James (Lorelei) of Oronoco; a daughter Brenda (Jeffrey) Stone of Bentonville, AR; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lawrence (Jan) Williams of Melrose, MN, and Edmund (Shirley) Williams of St. Paul, MN.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly; parents, six brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 9th at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester with Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
