He continually enjoyed trying new crafts and hobbies to learn new skills, such as sewing, sailing, beekeeping, growing grapes, judging wine at the county fairs, building hydroponic vegetable gardens, building BBQ smokers, and making homemade sausage. He really enjoyed spending time with friends and family, as well as traveling to new destinations.

The family of Ronald W. “Ron” Spain has received the following condolences.

Ron Spain was a wonderful person. He was a role model for all who knew him. Rest in peace Ron, you will be missed.

We had our adventures and they were always fun. I learned many things from you and I still use the knot you taught me that you used to tie your beehives with. May you Rest In Peace my friend. For Sylvia and Kristen please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Our deeply felt condolences to Sylvia and Kristen, and Ron's brother and sister. He was a great friend, winemaker, tinkerer, engineer, problem solver. He will missed at all the events he happily attended and contributed his expertise to: grape harvesting and pressing, apple crush, and all the Purple Foot Wine Club meetings. He will be greatly missed.

Gio, Michele, and Stephanie

Kristen,  so very sorry to see this.  I am sending my love and sympathy to you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to all the family of Ron Spain.  I have very fond memories as I did many trips for Scuba Diving with Ron and his family.  Also many parties at their wonderful home.  You were always welcomed with open arms.  I was shocked to read in the paper that Ron had passed away, as it was about 1 month ago that I visited with him and Sylvia when she was in the Homestead Therapy Center where I was serving as the Chaplain.  My deepest sympathy and fond memories.  Blessings and always remember the good times and the wonderful memories.

I'm so sorry to hear of "Ron's passing. I've always enjoyed Ron's visits and here for hunting during pheasant season-We've had a lot of good times. I'm so sorry I can't come to his funeral but I don't travel well anymore and the weather isn't good. My deepest sympathy to you Sylvia and Krisstin.     He always brought lots of onions and vegetables to our family reunion for 30 years. He will be missed.

We have just lost a very good man who lived a very good life. He was my model for living life to the fullest. Always finding new interests to explore. It was always fun to get together and catch up on his latest adventure - his whole life. He was the cousin that was always around. Visiting my family and spending time with me as a teenager. Saw me as a person.

My heart goes out to others who loved him too. Let’s all remember how he shaped our lives. But most of all how he lived his life to the fullest!

Sylvia, I'm not sure if you remember me but we golfed together at Zumbro Falls.  I just read this in an email and wanted to send you my deepest sympathy.  Prayers to you and your children.

Dear Sylvie and Babe - our deepest condolences at the passing of Ron.   He was a great neighbor and friend and will be missed.  Love and prayers from the Elpert and Mickelson families.

Sylvia, I am sorry for your loss of your husband. I have thought so often of you over the years. I hope you are taking especially good care of yourself.

With shared love,

Jerry Porter

Rest on peace scuba buddy!
