Ronald W. Hoover

Mr. Hoover at the age of 61 passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on February 12 at the Golden Living Center East.

Ronald Wayne Hoover (Ron), was born on August 4, 1948 in Rochester to Carl and Elsie Hoover. He grew up on a farm in Racine, MN and attended Stewartville High School and later attended Dunwoody College.

Ron married Carol (Denny) on October 20, 1967 at the Stewartville Methodist Church. They resided in Rochester.

Following their marriage Ron worked at Clements Chevrolet for 29 years as a Service Technician and later as their Service Manager; and then at R.D.M. in Dodge Center, upon his retiring in 2004. His wife worked at Dison’s Cleaners for 14 years and then in retail for 24 years upon her retiring in 2006.

Ron’s love for speed brought him to the race tracks, where he won a number of World and Division Championships with his dragster the “Cannonball Express”. He also enjoyed Snowmobiling and cruising the Mississippi River on his boat, “Knot Tool Time” with special friends; and was the proudest “PaPa” of his quadruplet grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Carol of 42 years. Son, Rick (Melanie) of Rochester and their four children: Noah, Ashley, Nathan and Alyssa. Daughter Kimberly (Nelson) Hoover-Robinson of Rochester; and three brothers; Gary (Vicki) of Racine, Brad (special friend, Stacie Stucky) of Rochester and Bob (Tracy) of Stewartville.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Elsie Hoover.

Friends and Family may come celebrate his life at Macken Funeral Home on Wednesday February 17, from 5-8pm.  A private family memorial has been planned for a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mackenfuneralhome.com
