Robert Lindman

Robert (Bob) Lindman, 70, of Rochester, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

A Tribute to Bob  “Seven Decades with Bob” will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, with Pastor Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Visitation will be held a half hour before the service.

Robert (Bob) Harry Lindman was born on Feburary 6, 1943 in “Nordeast” Minneapolis to Gordon and Marion Lindman. He was the third of four children and grew up in “Nordeast” Minneapolis where he made lifelong friends, got into mischief, and accumulated many stories that he loved to tell to his children and anyone that would listen.

After graduating from Edison High in 1961 he attended the University of Minnesota until he decided to focus on a career in Sales. He worked for Burroughs and eventually started his own business, Golden Triangle Business Forms.

Bob met his beautiful wife, Judith (Judy) Ann Peterson, while in high school and they were married on April 30, 1966. They made a loving home in Rochester, Minnesota for their three children Jody, Jed, and Christian.

Bob had a lake house on Lake Zumbro where he loved to get away and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed his weekend retreats where he would fish, cook, share many stories, and spend time with his faithful dog Fred. Bob loved to have a good time, share stories, play a game of cribbage, listen to music, and have a good laugh. He had a love of life and a smile that lit up the room.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his loving wife Judy. He is survived by his sister Janet Nypan, and brothers Richard (Sharon) and Jim (Kathy) Lindman; His children Jody (Bill) Peterson, Jed (Jackie) Lindman, and Christian Lindman; grandchildren Johanna and William Peterson, Kate and Kara Lindman, Zoe and Taylor Lindman, and special friend Tami Bowen.

On-line condolences are welcome at www.mackenfuneralhome.com.

Condolences

The family of Robert Lindman has received the following condolences.

I first met Bob in the early 80's when my real estate office was in the same building as Bob's business. We became friends quickly and Bob was always eager to lend an ear or share a laugh. I sure miss those days. My heart goes out to Bob's family and friends as I know what a huge loss this is. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are so sad to learn about Bob's death. We first met Bob & Judy in 1972 when we were newly weds and both Mike and Bob worked at Burroughs. We have great memories of many gracious dinners hosted by Bob & Judy, great belly laughs and much reminiscing about our Scandinavian backgrounds. In fact I just put out a beautiful Christmas decoration handmade by Judy and given to us in 1981. We fondly remember the generosity, compassion and great love of life by both Bob & Judy.

Both will be greatly missed by many. Our deepest sympathy to Jody, Jed and Christian and all the grandchildren.

With sympathy,

Linda and Mike Taylor

Even though I haven't seen my friend in many years I have thought of him often and have many great stories to remember Bob by. He helped me out at one of the lowest times in my life and gave me a chance to start my life over. Bob was a forgiving man as I let him down while I worked for him and finally I moved to Colorado to get my life in order. You see I'm a alcoholic and have been sober 27 years now and I went back to Bob and asked him for his forgiveness for letting my best friend down and he forgave me. Both him and Judy will never be forgotten, I love you both, Butch

What wonderful memories I have of spending time with Bob and Judy at their lake home, fishing carp with that weird bait, the Jaycees, softball games and some wonderful parties.  Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest, he will be missed.

My prayers to his familiy for comfort in their memories of Bob and Judy and for the loving support from family and friends.  God Bless, he is home.

Kathy

We are so saddened at the news of Bob's passing.  Many years ago when we were all at Child Care Resource and Referral there were lots of happy times spent together at office gatherings. I had the pleasure and the honor of working with and for Judy.  We hope the children and grand children find joy in all the good memories made with these two very special people. They will be missed but their love lives on in you all.

Sincerely,

Adrienne and Dick

So very sorry to learn of Bob's passing and know that he will be missed as one of the Lake Zumbro/Ryans Bay regulars. He was a good friend to my mom Kathy Rather.  My sincere condolences to his family and friends,.

Jody, Jed, and Christian,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.  I wish I could be there, Jod.  I'd give you a huge hug!  And Jody, play Bobby McGee.

Dear Jody, Jed and Christain...We were Saddened to read of your father's death.  Your family had to deal with the death of your parents at such an early age that is not fair.  However, life is not always fair and hopefully the memories of good days comfort you in this time of grief.  I can still hear your mother laughing with our gang in Wulling Hall at the U as we prepared for our fireld of art eduction.  We had a ball and never ran out oaf subject matter.  I remember your parents wedding and your visits to our home.  We still make the crab and cheese sandwiches on English muffins that your mother prepared for us when we visited your home in Rochester.Today is a day of reflection and our thoughts are with you all and your children.  Sincerely, Dennis and Linda Dvorak

Hello Jody,Jed and Christianand families. so sorry to hear about your dad. I was trying to remember the last time I saw him. I think it was at Mary Louis funeral. It is hard losing the last parent. hugs to you all....cousin gail

Jody, Jed, & Chris,

I’m so sorry to hear about your Dad’s passing.

I have so many fond memories of Bob while spending time at your home and cabin on Lake Zumbro.

Your Father and Mother were always very gracious & hospitable opening their home to so many. Whether it was everyone getting together on the weekends to watch a ball game, playing poker or just unwinding, listening to music and having a good time, Bob & Judy were always the kindest and they both are deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to cross their paths.

The times spent with them will always have a special place in my memories.

With deepest regret,

Tom Hoover
