Robert J. Jarett

Robert (June) Jarett, age 87 of Rochester, passed away on March 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Bob was born on September 22, 1928 in Zumbrota to Elizabeth and Clarence Jarett. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army serving as an Airborne Division Paratrooper. In 1953, he returned to Rochester and attended Rochester Junior College. In 1960, he married Charlotte Follensbee, had three children, and was later divorced. In 1971, he married Joan Hingeveld in Cherry Grove, MN. Together they raised a son. Bob was a personnel director for Libby’s-McNeil for many years. He later worked for the Kahler Hotel. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling to Wisconsin Dells, gambling, spending time at his brother’s lake house, eating out with his family, (especially breakfast with Joan) and watching Gunsmoke and Jeopardy in the comfort of his armchair.

He is survived by his wife Joan of nearly 45 years, his children Richard Jarett of St. Paul, Bob (Shari) Jarett of Rochester, Pam (Oscar) Quinones of Rochester, Brian Jarett of Rochester, four grandchildren Olivia (Rigo) Salazar, Emilio Quinones, Tim, and Heather, two great-grandaughters, and his brother Gene Jarett and family of Alexandria.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.

The Funeral Service for Bob will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 4, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church in Rochester with Rev. Thomas (T.J.) Parlette officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery Rochester.
