Robert “Bob” Kuhl

Robert Dale Kuhl, 94 of Rochester, died peacefully at his farm in Chester, MN on July 12, 2020 with his family at his side.

Bob was born on February 25, 1926 in West Concord to Lawrence and Edna (Marquette) Kuhl. At the age of five, Bob moved with his family to the farm in Chester. He attended the Chester Country School. Bob was a farmer his whole life. He was a Charter Member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester. On July 19, 1952 he married Lucille Manahan at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chatfield. Together they raised three children. Bob was a talented builder and welder. He and his brother Mike were very creative in building farm equipment. Together, they applied for, and were granted, several agricultural patents. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife Lucille of Rochester, his children Larry Kuhl of Rochester, Mary (Mike) Giesler of Pine Island, Joe (Katie Kucirek) Kuhl of Rochester, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mike, and an infant son.

The Funeral Mass for Bob will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Chris Manahan S.J. officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chatfield, MN.  Friends and relatives are all invited to a outdoor gathering on the Kuhl farm in Chester from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2020 to celebrate Bob’s life.
