Robert “Bob” George Coulter

Robert G. “Bob” Coulter – Rochester

Robert George Coulter, 79, of Rochester, MN, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Bob was born May 2, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Ralph and Lela (Pray) McDougall. Ralph died in World War II. Lela then married Ralph Coulter in 1946, and they raised Bob in Maynard, Minnesota.

In his early years Bob enjoyed riding horses, hunting and fishing, playing with his siblings and cousins, and tooling around in his muscle cars. After graduating high school in 1959, Bob lived in Minneapolis before making Rochester his home in 1971. On October 4, 1975, Bob married Diane Robinson, and they raised two daughters, Kris and Kim.

Bob was passionate about fishing, golfing, and playing cards. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Kaleb, taking his dog, Roxy, for walks, and cheering for the Twins and Vikings. He was a member of the Eagles and Knights of Columbus. Bob was known for his ability to connect with people- the epitome of a “people person,” whether it was a long-lost friend or grocery store cashier, he loved talking to people.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ralph and Richard, sister Lora May, and sister-in-law Diane. He is survived by his wife Diane; daughters Kris (Andrew) and Kim; grandson Kaleb; brother Wayne; and sister Lois (Mark).

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2020 at Church of the Resurrection Catholic Church with Rev. Shawn Haremza and Rev. Michael McClellan officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
