Robert “Bob” Drake
On Sunday, April 26, 2020, Robert “Bob” Drake, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 73.
Bob was born on December 31, 1946 in Fargo, ND to Francis and Sarah (Plank) Drake. He was a strong-willed person who lived life his way and was always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors. On May 26th, 1972, he married Marla Drewes Drake and together they raised one son, Dirk.
Bob had an incredible ability to fix anything that was broken, from cars to electronics, with nothing more than his own mind. He had a passion for nature and enjoyed fishing and photographing the animals who visited his home. Bob could often be found tinkering in his garage or maintaining his yard and helped others with their projects as often as he worked on his own. He loved watching the Vikings and the Gophers and was a passionate Nascar fan. Full of stories and humor, Bob was quick with a joke and never found a time when laughter was inappropriate. He spoke his mind, was never afraid of sharing his opinion, and was incredibly supportive of his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his father, Francis; his mother, Sarah; and his sister Vera.
He is survived by his wife, Marla; son, Dirk (Tricia Meyers); grandchildren, Brenden (Haley Cobb) and Hunter; his brothers, Wes (Monica) and Ed (Sue); and his sister, Kay.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be announced at a future date.

Dirk, you and I have grown close over the years while working together. I sincerely share your grief. You will find it comforting to read the scriptures at John chapter 11 verses 32-35. Jesus showed how deeply he cares about the grief we experience when someone we love dies. As you mourn your father's death, my thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you and your family.

I have many great memories of Bob and reading his obituary made those memories come flooding back to me . No matter if Dirk and I were stranded in the twin cities , struggling with the race car or needed a ride to Lacrosse to shop for band equipment he always gave his time to help us out . Fly high my dear friend . May god pour his grace over all the people who love you .
My heart goes out to the entire family. In working with Bob for several years I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed visiting with him and all his stories, and there were many! Marla he thought the world of you, along with Dirk and the grand kids. Bob is a huge loss in the world and he will be missed by so many. You all have my condolences
