Robbin A. Peterson

Robbin A (Goertz) Peterson, 58, of Rochester, MN died peacefully at her home after a prolonged and courageous struggle with cancer.

Robbin was born August 1, 1966, to Franklin and Judy Goertz. She graduated from Mayo High School in Rochester in 1986. On October 26, 1996, she married Christopher J. Peterson, also of Rochester.

Robbin’s career of 25+ years was with Mayo Clinic in Rochester as a Cancer Research Coordinator. She also worked for The American Cancer Society at Hope Lodge in Rochester for 7 years, as a coordinator. Robbin volunteered much of her time with church and school functions, along with countless community events.

As a young woman, Robbin enjoyed teaching ballet, jazz, and tap dancing. Later she enjoyed the outdoors, playing volleyball, canoeing, traveling and going on camping trips with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Chris, their son Jacob and his wife Jasmine (Smith), their son Joshua, her mother Judy Goertz, brothers Rodney (Jennifer) and Kyle (Tricia) and sister Jodi Hass (Patrick) in addition to cousins, brothers/sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Robbin was preceded in death by her father Frankie Goertz.

The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, with Pastor Jon Vollrath officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Moved across the street from you when Robbin and I were in 5th grade. Robbin (and whole family) welcomed us to the neighborhood so kindly. She made sure I felt comfortable on my first day at a new school, her kind heart has never changed! My heart is with your family, as well as my prayers.

Robbin will forever be in my heart as well as the memories I have of her. She always made the best roasts, and had the biggest heart.
