Richard Haas

Richard Haas, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was born on October 18, 1940 to Karl

and Dorothy Haas. Richard grew up in Rochester. In his adult years, he resided at the Bear Creek Services Cedar Hill House.

Richard proudly worked for many years at PossAbilities. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, participating in

woodworking classes, cheering for the Vikings, and was very fond of cats and dogs. Family and friends

will remember Richard for his happy-go-lucky nature, and his friendly and caring ways.

Richard is survived by his cousin, Pat Foster of Bella Vista, AR; two brothers, Jerry Haas and Larry Knutson; and a sister, Karen Fryer; along with their spouses, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and aunt, Edna Schinke.

The family would like to thank Mayo Hospice and the staff at Bear Creek Services for the very special care they provided and PossAbilities for providing employment opportunities.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at Resurrection Church, 1600 11th Avenue SE, Rochester, MN, with Rev. Schuster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with a luncheon at the Eagles Club to follow.

Memorials are suggested to Paws & Claws, Bear Creek Services, or PossAbilities.
