Richard “Dick” Bush

Richard “Dick” Bush, 84 of Stewartville, died peacefully on January 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Dick was born on October 8, 1936 in Rochester to Marvel and Maeverne (Joslin) Bush. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1954. He enlisted in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in January of 1958. On October 15, 1960 he married Lillian “Lil” Yainske at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, MN. Dick attended DeVry University in Chicago and specialized in facilities management. He worked in Rochester at Samaritan Bethany Nursing Home in facilities maintenance. He then was employed at Olmsted Medical Center in SE Rochester. He retired in 1995. Dick was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Stewartville. He was proud to be a charter member of the Zumbro Valley Treasure Hunters Club and loved searching for treasure with his wife and family all over SE Minnesota. He also taught Fencing, played the bagpipes, went to Threshing and car shows and loved building and sailing his own sailboats with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lil of Stewartville, his children Michelle (Perry) Olsgard of Pine Island, MN, Mike (Tanya) of Stewartville and Joel of Claremont.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sarah Cross.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. His ashes will be laid to rest at the Preston, MN State Veteran’s Cemetery.
