Rebecca “Becky” Ruth Dalluge

Rebecca “Becky” Ruth Dalluge, age 76, of Rochester, MN died on February 12, 2021 from complications of a brain tumor in the presence of close friends. Her faith in Christ provided much strength and comfort for her during this time.

Becky was born in Chickasaw County, Iowa and then adopted by Lawrence and Ruth (Petznick) Dalluge. She grew up in Grafton, Iowa loving the activities of a small-town kid and attending Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She played basketball and softball in high school and never lost her love for sports.  She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1962. In 1966 she graduated with a major in history from the University of Iowa. Becky taught high school history in Estherville, IA and Winona, MN. Summertime work at a children’s camp influenced her change in occupation. After receiving a M.Ed. in recreation therapy from the University of Minnesota, she worked as a recreation therapist in psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic for 40 years.

Becky enjoyed her church, traveling, genealogy and college sports. In 1967 she spent two months traveling throughout Europe, visiting many historical sites.  She also traveled frequently in the States. After retiring, she made trips with a group from Bethel Lutheran Church to Israel, Germany and Greece. Becky was an active member of her church, participating in bible studies, women’s groups, and Women of the ELCA Gatherings. She had a great interest in genealogy and belonged to the Olmsted County Genealogy Society and the Minnesota Pomeranian Society.  Becky maintained her great interest in sports and was a passionate Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Becky is survived by her brother Richard (Lu Ann) Dalluge of Park Rapids, MN; nephews, Samuel Dalluge of Rogers, MN and Joseph Dalluge of Delano, MN; grandnephews and a grandniece. She is also survived by close friends George and Marge Klee of Rochester and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ruth Dalluge.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church followed by inurnment at the Grafton, Iowa Cemetery. Memorial gifts can be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, Rochester, MN or Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, Iowa.
