Ramon “MOSE” Schumann
The funeral for Ramon “MOSE” Schumann will be Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol L. Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Schumann, 81, of Rochester died of cancer Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Season’s Hospice House.
Mose was born July 29, 1931 in Iowa to LaMont and Edna (Gerjets) Schumann. He graduated from Fairview High School. Mose married Sharon Wead in 1956. They lived in Adams until 1965 when they moved to Rochester. They later divorced. He married Mary (Lewis) Stark in 1974.
Mose worked at Osmundson Bros. as a farm mechanic and later as a respiratory therapist for Mayo Clinic. He retired from Mayo in 1991.
Mose enjoyed watching his young sons play hockey, was an avid golfer and bowler, loved playing cards and taking casino trips. He was a member of Soldier’s Field Men’s Club, the Elks Lodge and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, 3 sons, Marc (Karen) of Phoenix, AZ, Donald (Deb) of Rochester, MN and James (Katie) Stark of Mesa, AZ brother, Duane (Dona) of LeRoy, MN, sister, Geneva (Curt) Hamilton of Adams, MN, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, 2 sons and 1 daughter.
He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
