Patricia “Patty” Lynn Delaney

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Patricia Lynn Delaney, a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother (Gigi), and friend, who left us on January 6, 2026, at the age of 67. Born in Harmony, MN, on September 25, 1958 to James and Geraldine (Worden) Ferguson, Patricia brought joy and warmth to those around her throughout her life.

A graduate of Chatfield High School, having the nickname Pete. Patty then married her beloved husband Richard “Dick” Delaney in 1977. They then went to Germany for two years while Dick was in the Army. Together, they raised two daughters, Angie and Jenna, who grew up under the nurturing embrace of a mother whose love was boundless. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, devoted to her granddaughter Mckayla Delaney and her great-grandchildren, Serenity, Octivia, Theodore, and Eden. Family was always her top priority, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchild and great-grandchildren.

Patty’s passions were as vibrant and spunky as her feisty Irish spirit. She found solace and joy in crafting, beading, sewing, tie dyeing, painting, camping, gardening flowers, and bird watching. Her love for the outdoors and her long-haired dachshunds was evident to all who knew her. Patty’s creativity and love for life touched the hearts of many, and her legacy will be carried on by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Angie and Jenna (Jason Peaslee); granddaughter, Mckayla (Matt Hendrix) ; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Judy Priebe and Ann (Dean) Onsgard; brothers-in-law Jerry (Gail), Jack (Mary), and Tom (Kjirstin) Delaney; and numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, James and Geraldine Ferguson, her in-laws J. Lyman and Eileen Delaney, her brother-in-law Robert Delaney, and nephews Butch, Devin, and Ben.

In celebration of the remembrance of Patricia’s life, a Memorial Mass will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Her family invites all who knew and loved Patricia to join them in honoring her memory and the warmth she brought to the lives of so many.

Patricia Lynn Delaney will forever be remembered for her love, kindness, and the beautiful impact she had on the world around her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by her cherished family members whom she loved so deeply.

Condolences

The family of Patricia “Patty” Lynn Delaney has received the following condolences.

A long time ago, Patty was a good friend to me when I really needed one. I traveled back to be a waitress at her wedding. We mostly walked the streets of Chatfield together and hung out at her house. She was a genuine and trustworthy person. She had so many talents. I remember her making large dolls totally by hand and making and selling tie dye clothing that was especially vibrant. Sending strong thoughts to all who knew and loved her. I’m so sorry.

Though she was small in size, you’d be a fool to ever underestimate her. She carried a quiet strength, the kind rooted in kindness, loyalty, and an unshakable love for her family. Her heart was generous and steady, and it beat most fiercely for her girls, her husband, and the grandchildren who brought her endless joy. Their happiness was her happiness—nothing more was needed, nothing more was sought. She lived fully in that love, and because of it, she leaves a mark that will not fade. She will be deeply missed, and always remembered with warmth and respect.

My thoughts and prayers are extended with my sympathy and condolences to Patty's extended family and friends.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

So very sorry for your family's loss.

A message of rememberence to my lifelong friend Patty. For those who don't know me Patty and I have been friends practically our entire lives. We grew up in Chatfield together and we lived just blocks away from each other. When we would head back to our homes after playing we had our own call, a loud continuous Ahroooot a rooo back and forth until we were at our homes. 60 years later we still used our special call! Patty was family, she was beautiful, kind, and loyal. She had a devoted passion for Dick, her girls, their granchildren and her great grandchildren. I loved every moment with her, she had a huge impact on my life. I love you and I will miss you soooo much Patty, I had sooo much fun with you!!! Ahrooooot a roooo!

I’m deeply sorry for all of your loss. Patty was such a kind, loving, and funny person who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. I have so many wonderful memories of her and Kayla from my childhood. Those moments will always hold a special place in my heart. Patty was always there for Kayla, supporting her in ways that made a huge difference in her life. Her love for her Dachshunds was truly something special, and she was an amazing mom to her pups, showing the same care and dedication she gave to those around her. Her warmth and spirit will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
