Patricia K. Long
Patricia Kay Long (Daly) of Austin, MN passed away on December 9, 2024, in St. Paul, MN.
Pat was born in Austin, MN on March 31, 1942, to Guy and Kathryn Daly (Anderson). She was a graduate of Pacelli High School and shortly thereafter moved to Rochester, MN where she met and married her husband James K. Long. Pat was a homemaker and when her children were older, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, then dedicated her life caring for children.
Words cannot express all that Pat was to her family and friends. She was unconditional love, acceptance, and living in the moment. She found joy in laughter, shopping, and spending time with her sisters, often doing all three at once. She dedicated her life to caring for others. Her legacy lives on in all the lives she influenced as a mother, grandmother, daycare provider and nanny.
Eternal gratitude to her sisters, who were her closest friends and allies, Brighton Hospice, and the devoted staff at Willows of Ramsey Hill in St. Paul.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Long and daughter Karen Allen. She is survived by her children Jefferson Long (Kaia), Craig Long, Ann Long (Michael Khan), and grandchildren Ariana Allen, Emma Long, Anders Long (Rachel), Josephine Khan, Ethan Khan, great-grandchild Jayden Celius, and her sisters Marilynn Wellman (Daly), Colleen Daly, Mary Quinn (Daly), and JoAnn Daly.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Condolences
The family of Patricia K. Long has received the following condolences.
Sending my condolences to Pat’s family and friends.
I was another one of the renters and am so appreciative of having such a nice safe place to live.
As I’m getting older I recognize all the grace she showed to the young renters and those in the neighborhood.
I drive by often and have shown my children where I lived when I first came to Rochester. They’ve heard about how kind Pat was; they also want to hear about her cute dog.
Glad to have known Pat.
Dear Long Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Words cannot capture the warmth, generosity, and love that Patty was able to put into the world. She was gracious enough to take myself and my brothers in, looking after us as if we were her own family, and it is no surprise that you all embraced us the same way. I would not be the person I am without her having been in my life. I will continue to carry great memories of her with me every day of my life.
I pray you all continue to find peace and comfort in the many blessings she bestowed upon us all, and in the good memories she has left with us. I know she and Jim are looking down upon all of us and smiling from heaven.
With love,
Collin Gill
Dear Long Family,
I am incredibly sorry for your loss. Patty was such a vibrant light in every person’s life that she came in contact with and her infectious smile never failed to brighten my day. Patty was more than just a child care provider, she was and always will be family and I am most grateful for the unconditional love she showed to my brothers and I. I am so grateful to have had Patty in my life, and although she has passed on, I’m comforted by the fact that the love she had for those she cared about most will never go away. Patty was such a strong, caring, fun-loving, and kind soul who made this world such a wonderful place. This world lost an amazing woman, but we gained an astounding guardian angel. I will continue to keep your family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to know Patty in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
So sorry to hear about Patty’s passing. She was the best child care provider for our kids, Josh, Travis and Drew Meyer. The boys talk about her often and the fun times they had with her and the friends they made at daycare. I am sorry we were unable to make the service for her but we are not feeling well and thought it best to stay put. Thinking of all of you and our prayers are with you.
Long Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Patty was a blessing to every life she touched and was a perfect example of a warm, loving, kind, and caring person. She provided us nothing but love and fond memories as she took care of us and became a big part of our family and we wouldn’t be the people we are without her in our life. I hope she continues to watch over all of us.

Pat was such a loving and kind person to me growing up. I will always remember the Christmases at Maw's house, with all the cousins together. Pat had a great sense of humor and made you feel welcome. Our prayers are with her family, and our hopes are in the resurrection promised to us by our loving God.
I feel blessed to have had Patty in my life. She was a kind, warm, and compassionate presence each and every day, and she knew how to make an entrance with her famous “Hellooooo”.
I am thankful she has found peace, and I pray that she continues to watch over and guide me and my family.
Dearest Long Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Patty was a true grandma to our family - showering us with kindness, laughter, life lesions, comfort, words of wisdom, patience - and doing it all with unconditional love. We could not have worked without Patty - and still and even more importantl, we see how great her influence is on our adult children who fondly recall memories with Patty. She holds a special place in our hearts and her legacy will live on in all she brought to our family.
You, her family, are her pride and joy - her reason for living. May you find comfort in the memories you have of times with her. We feel her smiling down on all of us! Our prayers are with you during these difficult days!

Pat was a wonderful daycare mom to my kids, Sara and Steve. We got to know Pat through Grandma Jackie. You have our deepest sympathy. Donna (Goetsch) Baxter
So sorry for your loss. Pat was a lovely, kind woman. I worked for Pat as a helper in her daycare in the early 1990s. I often look back at pictures I took of our various activities with the kids. It was a great place to work and Patty is the reason.
Jefferson & Family,
I am so sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this time. May you find comfort in knowing that she is free of pain and suffering. Let her memories live on. Sending love and hugs your way.
I have such wonderful memories of Pat, always a smile on her face. Wishing you peace, comfort and strength as you celebrate Pat's wonderful life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Jackie & Kyle Howell
Patty was the best Daycare Mother and Friend to us! Karli & Kyle so loved being a part of her family. We all have wonderful fond memories of Patty!
Our Sympathies,
Steve & Pat Brink ❤️🙏
I remember Pat from when I was small....at Grandpa Leon's house for the annual chicken cookouts with the whole family. The two things I see when I close my eyes and think of her is that beautiful head of snow white curls and her continuous smile. She was a beautiful woman on the inside and out.
