Palmer D. Mickelson

Palmer Mickelson passed away on November 13, 2010.  He was born on July 27, 1942.  He served in the U.S. Army during 1961-1964, spending time in Korea.  On August 10, 1963 he married Flossie Marie McBride and they had five children.  They were later divorced in 1983.

Palmer worked at Rochester Methodist Hospital for 33 years as a chef and in supervision.  After his retirement, he worked part time at John Adams School in food service.  He enjoyed golfing at Maple Valley and Soldiers Field, playing chess on the computer, working in his yard, and attending Friday evening meetings with friends.

He is survived by his children Sue (Dan) Martinmaki, Brenda Luttchens, Paul Mickelson, Mark (Sue) Mickelson, and Sara Mickelson; grandchildren Daniel and Hannah Sandberg, Heather, Alex, Tyler, Riley and Amber Mickelson; great granddaughter, Callie Mickelson; his mother Elinor, brothers Mike (Bonnie) Mickelson, Dale (Barb) DeBolt, sister Joan (Robert) Russel, his friend/companion of 24 years Patty Jo Morris and her son Tim.  A sister Carol Johnson preceded him in death.

There will be a visitation at Macken Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 17 with a Memorial Service following at 2:00 P.M.  Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
