Orphie Elaine Stensrud
Orphie E. Stensrud, age 93, of Rochester, passed away at Asher Haus (Assumption) in Cold Spring, MN on April 11, 2021.
Orpie was born July 13, 1927 in Kasson, MN, to Thomas and Gertrude Harwick. She was the oldest of seven children.
Orphie married Norman Stensrud on January 19, 1945. They celebrated 71 years of marriage before Norman passed away in 2016. Orphie was a cook for the Rochester Public School District. When she retired, she enjoyed sewing, golf, and liked to travel to Arizona and Texas in the winter.
She is survived by her four children: Cheryl Aarness of Port Orchard, WA, Randall (Mary Smith) Stensrud of Rockville, MN, Greg (Mary McCarthy) Stensrud of Belfair, WA, Jane (Mike) Trieschman of Mankato, MN; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin Harwick, and Les Harwick; sister, Pat (John) Cotton, all of Rochester.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman; parents; brothers, Dick and Gary; sister, Darlene; and son-in-law, Roger.
A memorial service for Orphie will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home Monday, April 19, 2021 at 1:00pm. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester. Covid guidelines will be followed.
Memorials are preferred to Assumption Home, 715 1st St. N, Cold Spring, MN 56320, or to your favorite charity.

The family of Orphie Elaine Stensrud has received the following condolences.
Whenever I hear COME TO THE GARDEN I think of you. You got your wish to be with dad. I will miss you so much..like Bridgette I will also think of you when I see a really clean room and baked from scratch desserts. I am sure I will never reach your standard for doing the laundry. Bye for now.
My heart goes out to you all in your time of sorrow. I will always remember Aunt Orphie with much love in my heart. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
Thinking of my family in Minnesota. I have so many good memories of my Grandma - she was always so kind and beautiful. Wish I could be there for the service, I will be watching the stream and she will be in my heart. Love, Amy
What a wonderful life she had to be loved by so many! I will think of her whenever I bake anything from scratch, or whenever a room is perfectly clean. Sending my love to MN!
