Norma Fern Bohlman

Norma F. Bohlman, age 86, of Rochester, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Season’s Hospice with her loving family by her side.

Norma was born on August 3, 1933 in Tower City, North Dakota, the daughter of Percy and Esther (Anderson) Miller.  She graduated from high school in 1951 and went on to attend Dakota Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. While there, she met her husband and companion in life, Dale Bohlman.  Dale and Norma were married at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota on November 24, 1954.  Following their marriage, Dale’s job took them to Minneapolis, Minnesota where they made lifelong friends and where their only daughter, Sandy, was born.  In 1967 Dale’s job took them to Stewartville, Minnesota and Norma found a career at Bonner Elementary School as a secretary in the office.  She loved her job at the school, retiring after 26 years of service.

Dale and Norma were married for 60 years and she treasured every moment.  They had many friends and loved travelling and socializing with them all. Norma was a lifelong shopper and was never as sad as when her beloved Herberger’s closed!  She loved clothes and shoes, and always wanted to look her best!

Norma is survived by her daughter, Sandy (Bob) Buehler of Rochester and her grandsons Aaron (Laura) and Marcus, as well as sister-in-law’s Joyce Miller of Vancouver, Washington, Lois Tweten Hanson of Fargo, North Dakota and Carmen Bohlman of Thompson, North Dakota and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, her parents, her brothers James Miller and Duain Miller, and her  brother-in-law Lloyd Bohlman.

A special thank you is extended to Season’s Hospice and the amazing staff who showed so much kindness and compassion to Mom during her last days.

Visitation will be from 3:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, Rochester, Minnesota. The memorial service will be held starting at 11:00am on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stewartville, Minnesota, with Pastor Byron Meline and Pastor Kim Kyllo officiating. Friends and relatives are invited at 10:00am for visitation prior to the service at the church. Burial of her ashes will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, Minnesota following the luncheon.
