Condolences
The family of Nancy Louise Hartert has received the following condolences.
I am a retired pediatric oncologist at Mayo, and heard from Gordy Dukart about her passing. I worked with her many yrs ago, and remember her well. SHe was such a. Compassionate caring nurse, I would have wanted her as my child’s (or my ) nurse had i needed care. She embodied the true caring of a nurse, many children benefitted from her love and care. May she rest in peace, and deepest condolences to you. Carola Arndt
Dear Nancy's Family,
Nancy was an exceptional nursing supervisor and colleague. It was not unusual for her to answer a patient's light on Pediatrics, when she was supervising. I was privileged to be her Preceptor, when she decided to return to patient care on Pediatrics, in the 1980's. At first, I wasn't sure about being her Preceptor, but Nancy put me at ease and was eager to learn as much as she could. I enjoyed working with her.
My condolences to her family. God bless Nancy and family.
Deepest sympathies to all the family and friends of Nancy.
Nancy was such a great lady, and always a positive influence on all the neighborhood kids that frequented her house. Sending much love to Mike, Joe, Julie and all the family. This is a really hard part of life....God Bless to all and again, deepest sympathies.
Sending lots of love from Idaho! <3

Dear Ginny (and Nancy's family),
As you know, I worked with Nancy for many years on Pediatrics at St. Marys. She was a hoot, but a tough cookie! We had many a laugh, as well as some tears during our years there. I can just see her running the show now up above!
Hoping you can find some solace in all of your wonderful memories.
I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with your Mom for many years at St Mary’s as a staff nurse, supervisor and Asst Director of Nursing. I always enjoyed seeing her at the “old St Marys nurses“ xmas and summer lunches. We always had a lot of fun at work when there was time for that.
thoughts and prayers for you all

To Nancy’s Family: she was a truly beautiful person inside and out. I admired her as a wonderful, caring and very bright nurse. I loved her quick spunk in difficult patient situations and always appreciated her thoughtfulness. She was born to be a nurse I am certain. Blessed Be Her Memory.
Dear Julie and family,
Our mothers leave an imprint on our lives that gives us pause and direction. Your mother left an imprint on her entire family and the care that you and each member of your family provided to her will always remain as some of the most influential and inspirational lessons as each of you continue your live's journeys. God bless you as you mourn. God give you rest. Take gentle care now, dear friend.
I was a bedside RN on Domitilla 2D for over thirty years, and Nancy was the nursing supervisor. Though small in stature, she was a "force with which to be reckoned"! She mentored many of us young nurses, to advocate for the patients' and families' needs, demonstrating by her actions, the "heart of a helper". I remember her great sense of humor, which helped defuse some tense situations over the years. She was highly respected, sometimes "feared", because she had such passion for things being done the right way, in every circumstance. But she didn't hold anyone to a higher standard than she had for herself, and that's one of the things I most admired about this dear lady. I can only imagine what a fun Grandma and Great-Grandma she was! I will lift all of the friends and family in prayer, to be strengthened for life "in this new normal" without her here. No doubt she is in the company of the angels!! Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
I worked with Nancy at St. Mary’s many years ago. Nancy was a friend and mother figure in our lives as nurses at Mayo. She embodied the aspect that everyone was important no matter who and where they came from. God certainly got a wonderful angel to watch over us. My thoughts are for Nancy’s family and friends with her passing.
