Nancy J. Zodrow

Nancy (Fitzpatrick) Zodrow, born October 1, 1946, at Nielsen Maternity Home in Hayfield, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, Minnesota, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was the beloved daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Wollenberg) Fitzpatrick. On February 19, 1966, Nancy married Richard (Dick) Zodrow, with whom she built a loving family and home in Rochester.

Nancy was a devoted homemaker and later worked in food service and as a special education PARA for the Rochester Public School District, where she touched many lives with her warmth, kindness and heart of gold.

She cherished her family above all, leaving behind her children Tony (Peggy) Zodrow, Terri Zodrow, Michelle (Chris) Lee, and Lisa Zodrow. Nancy’s legacy continues through her grandchildren Brianne Lee, Jared Zodrow (Jason Bursley), Alex (Sarah) Lee, Jack Zodrow, and Grace Zodrow, as well as her beloved great grandchildren Olivia Allen and Patrick Lee.

Known for her warmth, kindness and giving nature, Nancy found joy in gardening, garage sales, baking, spending time with her family, animals of all kinds and spending time with her special kitties – Chloe and Baloo and a multitude of grandcats and granddogs.

Nancy’s love and spirit will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.

Special thank you to her amazing teams of doctors, nurses, social workers, personal care attendants and many others at Saint Marys hospital, the Inpatient Palliative Care Service unit at Methodist hospital and Seasons Hospice House for their outstanding care and guidance and above all else their kindness and compassion with our entire family.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home at 11:00am. Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held with immediate family.

We were so sorry to learn of Nancy's passing. As I saw her photo, her smile made me recall the times we met and how she smiled and laughed. It always seemed like she was enjoying life and family, and I know she will be missed. Sending everyone in the Zodrow family our heartfelt sympathy. Losing a Mom is a tough thing, but we know she is resting in peace. Sending hugs from afar during this challenging time and the days ahead. Love, Eric and Carol Schrader (Chris' aunt and uncle)
