Nancy Ann Clark

Nancy Ann Clark of Rochester MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by members of her family on April 14, 2019 at the age of 51.  Cancer quickly weakened her body, but it could not conquer her spirit.  She was small, but mighty, with a will to live that was relentless and unbendable.  Nancy followed in the footsteps of her beloved cousin Tim through cornea donation by offering the gift of sight to two people.

Nancy was born on February 4, 1968 to Wes and Mary Clark.  She graduated from Pine Island High School in 1986.  Nancy worked in various customer service roles before finding her employment niche when Wal-Mart came to town in 1993.

With an independent nature, she liked her own space – including her #1 truck.  That red Chevy Colorado was her pride and joy!  She had a love for books, long walks, and quiet time at home with pasta for dinner.  Nancy also deeply loved her family, and spoke often of the adventures they shared together.  Family trips included a trip to Hawaii, horse races in Kentucky, shelling on Sanibel Island, and digging for gems with her Dad.  She loved visiting family in Oregon, and the beautiful beaches of the coast, especially the undivided time with her cousin Shari. She also had a special bond with her younger brother Craig.  They enjoyed a love of MN Vikings football and long walks with dog Brooklyn.

Nancy is survived by her parents, Wes and Mary Clark of Rochester, MN; her brother, Craig Clark of Rochester, MN; aunts and uncles including John (Martha) Rasmusson of Cresco, IA, Joyce (Marv) Clark of Portland Oregon, Lyla (John) Hagemeister of Rochester, MN, Linda Rasmusson of Rochester, MN, Glenn (Sharon) Rasmusson of Spring Valley, MN, Gail Rasmusson of Eyota, MN, Steve (Jackie) Rasmusson of Rochester, MN, Leon (Helen) Clark of Hopkins, MN, Vernon (Evelyn) Clark of Grand Forks, ND, Allan (Robin) Clark of Pine Island, MN; along with many special cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lee and Della Rasmusson and Ralph and Evelyn Clark; uncles, John Rasmusson, John Hagemeister, Leon Clark, and Vernon Clark.

A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Steven Dudley officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. before the service, with a light meal and fellowship following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Ability Building Center, ARC of Rochester, MN, or Cancer Research at Mayo Clinic.

Condolences

The family of Nancy Ann Clark has received the following condolences.

So sorry for your loss!  Nancy was always a day brightener.  I worked with her years ago at Wamart North.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

I am sorry for your loss. What a beautiful picture/smile. Prayers

Even after 30 years, my memories of working with Nancy back at Burger King are still fresh in my mind and put a smile on my face.  I had the fortune of working with her during the summer on the morning and day crew. We laughed often and relied on each other to run the front like a well-oiled machine.  Her infectious laugh and smile made the early mornings more bearable and go by quickly. She may have been petite, but her independence and spirit were strong.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy’s family on the loss of such a special spirit.

With Sincere Sympathy,

We are holding you in our prayers.

Our  Lord and Savior needed a special soul and will hold her in His hands until you meet again.

Just know we care.
