Michael “Teddy” Tyrell Miller

Michael Tyrell Miller, 64, of Byron, MN, passed away Friday, November 22, 2019 at his home with his wife by his side.

Mike was born July 22, 1955 in New Ulm, MN. His family then moved to Rochester, MN and eventually to Byron, MN where he graduated from Byron High School in 1973.

He married Lori A. Lienau-Johnson on March 31, 1989 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kasson, MN and they made their home in Byron, where they raised their two sons.

Mike worked in the construction/masonry field in his younger days, did some farming, then took a position in the laser shop at RDM in Dodge Center for many years, until taking a position at Mayo Clinic as a custodian.

Mike loved to go fishing, camping, going to classic car shows and riding his Harley on long trips to Sturgis, Yellowstone and taking the best trip ever to Alaska, along with spending lots of time with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; two sons, Owen (Briana Turner) of Rochester and Tyler of Byron; four granddaughters, that just adored their Papa, Londyn Miller and Jayden, Jordan and Jemma Johnson; brothers-in-law, Robert Lienau and Randy (Danielle) Lienau; parents, Anker and LaVonne Miller of Kasson, MN; one brother, Gregg (Cecilia) Miller of Kasson, MN; several nieces and nephews and a great niece & nephew.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl and Paternal and Maternal grandparents.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN with Pastor Kurt Ploeger officiating. Condolences

The family of Michael “Teddy” Tyrell Miller has received the following condolences.

Lori,  So sorry for your loss. Peace, Prayers and Blessings to you and your family!

We are so sorry for your loss.  There are many great memories of the Alaska trip, especially when we poured oil under his bike and he thought he had a leak.  It was a really good trip and Mike was a really good guy. I’m thankful I can say I was his friend and enjoyed our time together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My deepest sympathy to the whole family.  Mike was a good friend and classmate in school. I remember somemof his funny pranks he would do in class and his laugh. I sure wish we could of had more class reunion so we could catch up with everyone. Again my deepest sympathy.

Lynette (Cordes) Johnson

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a wonderful person as I remember him coming to help on our farm in the summer. What a great family to have as our neighbors back in the day.

Good Bless all of you and my heart goes out to you Lori.

Dear Miller Family,

On behalf of the Radke Family and Byron High School, my thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family. May all of your awesome memories help heal during this difficult time. God Bless

Ryan Radke

You’re in my thoughts and prayers Lori and family.

Mike was a great guy who will be missed immensely. He fought the good fight, but he's in a better place now. RIP Teddy.

My condolence to Gregg and his family on the death of his brother.  He looks like such a nice person with that big smile.

May he rest in peace.

My condolences to all the family from your Canadian cousin. Gone too soon.

Lori, Tyler, and Owen - I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a fun man and loved all of you so much. I never met his grandbabies but know from different conversations how much they meant to him. I miss the times you two would come into the bar when I was working and would always love the conversations, shots, and music. I would look forward to hearing some Doors music if he got to the jukebox. I know your lives will never be quite the same but hope his memories will bring smiles to your faces. He was a good man and will be missed.

My thought and prayers are with you.  With love, Retta

Lori & family, so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts & prayers are with you in this difficult time.  Our deepest sympathy.

Thinking of you daily Lori. Mike is now comfortable and will be watching over you and your family. Love you cousin. Cheryl
