Michael L. Bjork
Michael Lin Bjork, age 64, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away on October 3, 2025, at his home.
Mike was born on February 8, 1961, to Donald Bjork and Penny Michog. In his youth, he spent much of his time in sports and the outdoors. As an avid boxer, Mike won the Golden Glove award at the impressive young age of 15. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and roller skating. With skates around his neck, Mike was no stranger to walking from his home in Southeast Rochester all the way to Skate Country on Highway 52 for a good time.
Mike met the love of his life, Mary Lettelleir, in the summer of 1980. From the moment they left their first date hand in hand at the Olmsted County Fair, the rest was history. They shared 45 wonderful years together, 39 of them as husband and wife since their marriage on September 6, 1986.
Mike was a dedicated, integral employee of the Blondell Motel for over 30 years. He began working in the restaurant, but Richard Blondell admired his work ethic and attention to detail so much that he was asked to move to facility maintenance. His passion for a job well done kept the hotel in pristine condition until his retirement.
With an admirable gift of gab, Mike never took life too seriously and brought out the biggest laughs in all who knew him. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he was a friend you could count on when difficult times arose. Whether sharing stories around a campfire or causing shenanigans in Wilcox or South Branch, Mike treasured time with family and friends above all else. Spontaneous and full of life, he was always ready for an adventure—from dressing as a clown in local parades with his friend Dean and his father to tossing a tent, fishing rods, and a couple of friends into his Ford station wagon for a spur-of-the-moment road trip to northern Minnesota or Wisconsin. His zest for life, ear-to-ear grin, and one-of-a-kind laugh were infectious and will be missed dearly by his loved ones.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Donald Bjork; brother, Troy Bjork; his in-laws, Charles and Carolyn Lettelleir; and brother-in-law, Thomas Hain.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Bjork of Rochester; mother, Penny Michog, and stepfather, Darryl Michog, of Bemidji; and sister, Wendy Jeske (Ed Davis) of Rochester. His siblings by law include Mike (Nancy) Lettelleir of Crystal; Marty (Donna) Lettelleir of Trinidad; Mark Lettelleir; Margaret Hain; and Jim (Thuy) Lettelleir, all of Rochester. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 8 great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles Club on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5–7 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
