The funeral for Michael Edward Brossard will be at 11:00AM, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 5:00PM – 7:00PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in the River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Brossard, 69, of Rochester, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 due to complications of a long term illness.
Mike was born on March 1, 1946 in Rochester to Louis and Helen (Bucher) Brossard. He grew up in Rochester and graduated from Lourdes High School and Rochester Community College. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve on April 30, 1972.
Mike retired from IBM after 30 years in 1997.
On October 21, 1967, he married Mary L. Decker in Rochester. She passed away on November 24, 1981. On October 27, 1984, he married Sandy Trcka in Montgomery, MN.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughter Shelley (Troy) Bjerke of Rochester; sons Kerry (Jody) Brossard of Byron and Kyle Brossard of Rochester; brothers Paul of Rochester and Gregory of Costa Rica; grandchildren Breanna Bjerke of Rochester, Calvin Bjerke of Rochester, Tyler Brossard of Byron and Cody Brossard of Mankato. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary, mother Helen, father Louis, brother, Steve and son, Cory.
Michael loved everything outdoors; hunting, fishing, woodworking, traveling and especially spending time on the River.
